"let's give it up for our football team on their great victory against our schools best component the raptors from rapid heights high school!" the principal said cheerfully into the microphone causing an outburst of students to cheer and clap. it was our monthly assembly at school.
I didn't mind assemblies, sure they were boring and it was the same thing basically every time. they'd announce our sports teams victories, announcing if any big school wide projects were going on, let the cheerleaders do a few cheers with us, and so forth. but on the bright side we got to have short classes on days of the assembly.
I felt a small vibration from my pocket, so I pulled out my phone to see who it was.

i stare down at my phone in confusion. I know he was referring to the talk we had the other day but I didn't know why he was texting me to remember. I shrugged before shoving my phone back into my pocket before looking back up to the principal

"Now this part of our assembly is going to be a tad bit different then some of our other ones.... our football team had came up and talked to me about putting on a special performance for you all. Now I'd like to introduce to you... our varsity football team, please give them all a good welcome" he said before smiling as he walked away from the podium.
one by one about twenty something boys walked into the gym with long robes on, everyone was in complete confusion. they all lined up a good distance away from the bleachers and stood with their heads bowed

"is this some voodoo shit?" jack whispered from besides me as we watched jonah walk up to the podium

"sh.." I whisper as I watch closely

"dear fellow students of reinheart high school... it is I, jonah frantzich, present captain of the baseball team and former captin of the football team. as you may know in the past two weeks a lot of tension and drama has been floating around my fellow senior class mates. and I take complete responsibility for almost all of it. today my boys and I stand before you as a peace treaty, to stop all of the rumors, drama, arguments, fights and everything." Jonah said as he looked around the gym.
"a wise person once told me that actions speak louder than words. which is true. how is anyone suppose to know you're sincere by a word when your actions don't back it up." he cleared his throat before looking around the gym "in the past few weeks I've made made errors and mistakes. Ive ruined one of the... no the best friendship I've ever had. i messed up big time, but today I stand here to apologize, Raina Clark.." he said, causing everyone heads to turn and find me,

my cheeks turned bright red from all the new attention being drawn towards me, normally I don't care but all this attention was making me nothing less than uncomfortable

" Raina... " jonah continued "I am so sorry for everything. spreading rumors and bullying people isn't cool. making up lies to make yourself seem like a cooler person doesn't make you cool, it just makes you look like a fool. I am the living embodiment to show you that trying to be cool by being rude doesn't make you any cooler, in fact is just makes you... and pardon my language staff and students... a dick" he said before stepping down, bringing the microphone with him as he joined in the line of the other football players "so here today the football team and I stand before you all to embarrass ourselves just like we have embarrassed some of you. we are all sorry for any pain or sadness we've brought upon anyone, and from here on out we will all try and be the best versions of ourselves and help people rather than bring them down... thank you"he smiled before handing the microphone off to one of the staff members

all of a sudden the intro music to "7 rings" by ariana grande played through the speaker in the gym. all the boys took off their robes and threw them to the side to reveal them all wearing cheerleading offits, causing everyone to gasp

"breakfast at Tiffany's and bottles of bubbles" Jonah lipsynced as he did a sassy walk

"girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble" Zach followed

"lashes and diamonds, atm machines..." Corbyn said stepping forwards

"buy myself all of my favorite things" daniel while doing a small fancy gesture with hid hand

one by one they all went down the line, each and everyone of them lip syncing as they did a small sassy move until it came up to the chorus

"my wrist... drop watching" they all held up their wrist "my neck is flossing" they all rolled their head back, and as the song went on they all preformed moves that corresponded with the lyrics

"i see it, I like it, I want it, I got" the finished by holding their hand up in a fist and before we knew it they all dropped it low, causing everyone to cheer and scream
the song stopped and all the boys bowed while having the fellow students cheer and scream for them. I looked at jonah and saw him smiling widely with a proud look in his eye. before I knew it he locked eyes with me before cracking an even bigger smile and blowing me a air kiss

God I love this kid.
