I promised myself I wouldn't, but I did. I fell in love. I fell in love with you. I never planned to. I never thought I'd break my own rule. Well, turns out, you're my only exception.

I'd never understood why girls smile randomly at their phones, or get jealous about other girls being with boys, or what was so great about a relationship, anyway.

What's so great about it is spending every day with someone you love. I don't have you, and you're not mine, but for the first time, I wish I had what all the other girls have or desire.

I never understood it before until now. Trust me, it was the most unexpected thing I would ever think to happen. But it did.

Now, I smile whenever I see your name pop up on my phone, or when you send me things, and I actually think they're cute. I even laugh sometimes.

Those once sour thoughts that entered my mind about love, just disappear when I think about you. I get it now.

You make me happy, and I really hope you're happy, too, despite what the future has planned for us.
