"When are we gonna spar?" Toni asked Jay.
"I don't like that look in your eye." Jay joked as he punched the bag.
"He is a devil when it comes to sparring." Antonio smirked.
"Ah, you're doing great. Just keep dropping your left every time you throw your right cross, it'll be fun."
"Is Voight dirty?" Jay asked.
"It's not my department."
"So that's a yes."
"I almost went down the tubes when I was in Vice, which was right around the time I stopped judging other cops."
"I'm not looking for judgment, just a definition. Do I learn from him, or do I keep my distance?"
"Both."
"What about you? If anybody would know, it's you."
"I say both. But hey, what do I know?"
"But if you really wanna know if he's dirty or not, ask her."
"Jazzercise is, like, a block south."
"Yeah, nice muscle tee."
"This is perfectly acceptable attire for the boxing gym."
"No, absolutely, and the bonus is you don't have to change later when you break-dance."
"Voight's kid." Justin walked up with his hands in his pocket.
"Justin. This is Antonio and Jay. I work with them. Antonio's buddy owns the gym, hence the 30% discount."
"20%. Nice try."
"All right."
"How you doing?" Jay held his hand out but Justin didn't shake it.
"I gotta make some calls." Toni and Justin greeted each other with a nod. Justin looked to me before walking away.
"He's like my little brother. I'm just trying to keep him out of trouble." Erin said as Jay and Toni threw each other looks.
"Good luck."
"Just give him a shot."
"We got a case. Some girl went crazy on Atwater and Burgess. She's at the hospital."
"All right."
"I'll grab Nolan."
I called Nolan over and over but didn't receive an answer.
"Hey, give me a few. I gotta run by Nolan's place."
"Okay. Hurry." I rushed to their house.
"Hey, Tiana."
"Ana, hi. How are you?"
"Okay. Is Nolan here?"
"Uh, no. He's out right now."
