Laid on my bed was a army green cropped tank top, a pair of extremely distressed jeans, and a jean jacket. My doc martins were sat on the floor underneath it all. She always knew my style and made sure I stayed true to it. In her opinion, your style is how you express yourself. I always believe it was all in my actions, but a good style is never bad. The outfit fit me well and looked a lot better than I had expected. Adrianna squealed in excitement.
"That's my best friend! Yes!" She yelled happily. I shushed her with a laugh and rolled my eyes playfully. My hand gripped the handle of my guitar case as we exited the apartment. It was now 6:00 p.m. and I was do perform at 7:00. Adrianna was my ride, Cooper and Mason were probably already there, and I had invited Colby and whoever he wanted to bring with him. No one knew, but tonight I planned to sing an original song that I've been holding back for years. For some reason the time just feels right to finally release it into the world. I knew Adrianna noticed that I was more nervous than usually but she didn't say anything about it. She just continued silently glancing at me from the drivers seat as I picked at my chipped polish. The shop was as crowded as it usually was on a Friday night. Many different types of people filled the room and I nervously swallowed the lump in my throat. I held a smile on my face as I greeted everyone.
"Cam, this is Brennen. Brennen, Camila." Colby introduced me to a very attractive tan boy that was about the same height as him. His nickname for my nickname always made me laugh.
"Nice to meet you!" I smiled brightly and shook his outstretched hand. "Thanks for coming, but I have to go set up." I spoke nicely. Colby gave me a quick one armed hug, and I high-fived all of my friends enthusiastically before heading to the stage with my guitar in hand.
The black paint of the guitar reflected the lights that were shown on me. Many people said hello as they passed the stage and dropped tips in the jar by my feet. A lot of people remembered me, mostly workers and regulars. The feeling made my heart swell. Doing things like this had always been a dream of mine, the fact that I had opportunities such as these made me incredibly happy.
"Hey guys! Nice to see you all again." I announced happily into the mic. My hands rubbed against my jeans in a way to take away the nervous pit in my stomach. "So, tonight I'm going to be doing something a little different. Usually I would do a cover but I think it's about time I show you guys an original work of mine, called Deserve. Does that sound okay?" I questioned, people's clapping and cheering in response. I could see Adrianna's mouth go slack in shock that I finally decided to open up more creatively. She had always pushed me to do so.

My fingers stopped strumming against the guitar for a moment as I let a strong note release from deep in my throat. I continued to sing random parts of the melody as the song came to an end, feeling the vibrations of the music all around me. My eyes stayed shut for a moment once I had ended. Claps and cheers sounded around me, a smile widening across my face as I opened my eyes. A warm feeling of pride rushed through my veins.
"What the fuck, Camila? Why have you never shown me that before?" Adrianna yelled in mock anger to me. My close friends enveloped me into a group hug and I couldn't help but let a tear of happiness roll. I wiped it away before anyone saw.
"I wanted it to be a surprise." I muttered in responded, my cheeks slightly pink. Colby's gaze distracted me, and I turned.
"That was hot." He joked, making us both laugh. "No, but seriously. That was amazing. I've heard you sing before but... damn. Not like that."

Some people may find it weird; the relationship I have with Colby. A no strings, sex filled relationship, but we still act as good friends like nothing happens behind the scenes. It wouldn't be hard to see the sexual tension that connected us anytime we were near each other. I had never been with anyone like him. He was so good. So different than anyone else. We were something and nothing all at the same time. A perfect distraction from the stress of everything around us.

Anyway this chapter sucked ASS. I'm sorry I'm sorry :'( I just really felt like uploading before I went to bed. Yes, I woke up from a 5 hour nap and now I'm going to bed again. Don't judge me.
