Out in the Open Part 2

Start from the beginning

"I'm going to get an update on the bed situation and we are going to admit her, okay? Does she have a history of any physical or mental disorders?"

Demi and I looked at each other, "I know she has a history of some pretty serious, textbook symptoms of PTSD, um, anxiety... she has a lot of nightmares, poor thing. Lauren?" Demi started for me.

"Uh, yeah, everything she said, she has a history of eating disorders but she's in recovery. She's had similar episodes but they were all provoked, she talks during them usually. Sometimes she's unresponsive, but she'll be vocal. I-I don't know..." I trailed off, chewing on my lip a bit.

Demi put a hand on my knee, "Hey, she's gonna be okay, they're going to try to help her, Laur. Okay?" I nodded.

"Okay, I'm looking at the status now and we are going to get her a standard room with no other patients and rule out anything physical. If we can't find anything, we'll have psyche take a look at her. How does that sound?"

"It sounds good, thank you," I told her.

"It's no problem at all, we can go ahead to her room. I admitted her through the system and I'll send the neurologist down as soon as possible."

We were led to her room, she offered a wheelchair for Camila, but I insisted on holding her. It took a few minutes but we got to Camila's room and the nurse informed us that if we needed anything we could press the button on the wall, especially if it's an emergency.

We told her thank you and she shut the door. We attempted to get Camila situated.

"Can you think of anything that we could possibly use to calm her down for now? At least a little? Demi asked me as I laid Camila on the bed, sitting with her, her head in my lap.

"Paci?" I suggested. She handed me one from the bag and I tried to give it to Camz, but without success.

I noticed Demi was looking pretty hard at her phone, "What are you looking so hard at?"

"I'm seeing if Google has any ideas about what could be happening so I can calm you down and know how to help Camila. We don't know how long it will be before the neurologist will come."

I sighed, knowing she was right, "Yeah, let me know if you find anything. She nodded and I laid down next to Camila, pulling her back into my embrace.

She was whimpering, tears still flowing down her cheeks, the poor girl trembling as her hyperventilation continued. Then, it hit me like a semi.

"Oh, my god... Demi? You don't think this could be a seizure, do you?"

I could tell by the look on her face that she couldn't say no.

"I really don't know. If it is, then I'm really worried. It's been going on for a while now."

"I-I think it is..."

I sat her up in my lap and tilted her head so I was looking at her eyes, she was not moving them by her control, they were slightly rolling back, but not all the way. They were cycling between going back some and then going back down to a normal position.

I have never smacked a call button so fast in my life. I pulled Camila close, hugging her protectively.

The neurologist must have just been about to come in because she rushed in along with a doctor we hadn't seen before.

"I-I think she's having a seizure," I said quickly, Demi came over, staying just out of the way of the doctors.

The neurologist looked at Camila. "Yeah, yeah, this is a seizure. How long has this been going on?" She asked as she looked at Camila.

"Um, at least 45 minutes," Demi answered. I was honestly in a bit of shock.

"Okay, push 10 of diazepam, that's a really long type to be having a seizure like this," she sounded concerned...
