No no no no.

This can't be happening.

No.

"This is Chris. He is my cousin. Do you know him?"

"Yeah, I do."

And now I wish I didn't.

Chris looked at me.

He wouldn't beat me up in front of Becky, would he?

"Hi Becky," Chris said giving her a hug.

He stayed for a bit, watching tv and eating Pringles. What a douche.

After a while, Chris walked up to me, whispering, "do anything to her and I'll kill you, but in all defence, I'll probably do that anyway." he said pointing to his jacket pocket. A cylindrical shape was showing through. He walked out to his car, got inside, and drove off.

Well then, I'm in for a horrible life.

"Do you like him?" Becky said pulling on my sleeve.

"Of course I do," giving her the most genuine fake smile I could pull off. Her face lit up. "Cool, now we can learn my new words!"

*time skip cause I'm friggin' lazy*

After two more hours of trying and failing to teach Becky how to read words like octopus, school and apple, Sharon finally pulls up in front of the house.

Well, I thought it was Sharon.

A boy about my age got out.

I began to get a bit worried.

"Becky, come here. Do you know him?" I said pointing to him through the window.

"No, is he your friend?"

I sort of started to panic now.

"Stay with me ok? Be really quiet, because we are playing a game."

She giggled and followed me to the living room where there was a better view of the boy.

"I'm just gonna call your mum so I know when she is coming."

"Ok!"

There was a knock on the door.

"Stay here, and take this," I said giving her a teddy bear from the ground.

I opened the door cautiously.

"Hello, are you Nik McCallef?" he said.

"Who's asking?"

"Me. And my adoptive father, Leo."

A man was behind him.

How did I not notice?

The boy looked familiar.

"Do I know you?"

"Well, um, I'm your twin brother."
