《Matthew, son, will you help me with the BBQ?》Richard suddenly asked from out of nowhere.
Matt glanced at me with a worried look. --《Go, I'll be right there》I encouraged him.《I love you》
《I love you》he pecked me on my cheek and stood up, leaving me alone with my thoughts again.
When I walked back to the cabin, the smell of grilling beef turned my mood upside down. I loved that smell with every inch of my being. I sniffled up dramatically, causing both Alexandra and Matt to roll their eyes and laugh at me.
《Ollie, guess what!》Gracie rushed beside me.
《What?》I smiled.
《I think Matt is planning something huge for you》she whispered into my ear.
《Like what?》I raised my eyebrow.
《Can't tell but ohmygod I'm so excited!》she squealed.
I rolled my eyes and walked closer to my mom and Christina, who apparently had a lot to say to each other. Matt got in the way and smirked proudly. --《What, Daddario?》
《Kiss the chef?》he grinned widely.
《You mean your dad? That'd be weird》I joked.
《Wow that's so mean thank you very much》he laughed.
《This girl is going places, son. You better be quick》Richard snooped from behind me and placed his hands on my shoulders.
《Better be quick doing what?》I asked quietly as I smiled.
《Nothing》Matt threw a death glare to his dad and then nonchalantly smiled down at me.《Don't mind him, getting old is a big thing》
《Excuse me?》Richard crossed his arms against his chest and tried to sound mad, uselessly.

Lunch was great, and seeing Matt and his family growing on my parents was heart-warming. My dad was having a good talk about soccer with Richard when my mom approached me.
《I like this guy, he looks like a good catch》she smiled widely.
《Yeah, maybe too good huh》
《Don't be stupid, Olive Scarlett. That guy looks at you like you're the sun. He constantly checks on you, he makes you laugh, he throws compliments at you. You hold on to a love like this》
《He's the uh reason I moved here a few months back》
《I approve》she wrapped her arm around my neck and pulled me closer. --《Kevin played you dirty, I get that you're scared, but don't push this away. This Matthew guy loves you, it shows》
《Yeah, Kevin was.. yeah, awful》
《Don't be scared to let it go. Also, this Matt guy is quite handsome》
《Mom!》I yelled and gasped.
《What!》she giggled.
