Lily's POV

2 months later

"You look wonderful," one of my dad's said, standing behind me. I had just put a dark blue sparkly dress on. It was one of the most extravagant things I had ever owned.

As soon as Dad D and Dad J (As I call them) heard about my date with Klarissa tonight, they took me shopping. They said that I needed the perfect dress to shock my girl.

I quickly brushed through my straightened hair, smiling at myself in the mirror. I looked different. More grown up.

It had been a good two months. Now that Daryl was gone, I felt like I could move on from that part of my life. It hardly crossed my mind anymore. Every day was a dream with Klarissa and my awesome friends.

It was also a dream to have my two foster dad's. They meant the world to me. It took me some time to adjust to this new life without my mum, but now it was a reality. She still meant the world to me, but I knew it was no use being upset about her being gone. I knew that I was in good hands; she had chosen Dan and Jarred for me herself. She would be over the moon with happiness if she saw how content I was with them.

"Thanks," I said, looking up at Dad D.

"I guess we better get you there! You don't want to be late,"

"You better!" I said, laughing.

"I'll drive her," Dad J said, walking out of the kitchen.

Very soon, Dad J was pulling up out the front of the pizza restaurant.

I looked out of the window, and my breath was taken away when I saw her. She was wearing dark jeans and a purple tube top which matched perfectly with the new purple tips of her hair.

"Have an awesome time! Call us if you need anything," Jarred said.

"I will," I said, hopping out of the car. They had brought me a phone last month, and I was still new to it. It was a crazy piece of technology.

As soon as Klarissa saw me, she ran towards me.

"You look incredible," she said, eyeing my dress.

I blushed.

"You look even better,"

"You like it? I thought showing a bit if skin would be sexy," she said, laughing.

"It is," I said, smiling. Then I wrapped my arms around her back and kissed her.

When I pulled back, she grabbed my hand, pulling me towards the shop door.

Very soon, we were seated at a table for two.

"What type of pizza do you like?" Klarissa asked, as we looked through the menu.

"I'll try anything," I said.
"I haven't had much pizza in my life,"

So we ordered, and it didn't take long for our Hawaiian pizza to arrive.

"This is delicious," I said, biting into a slice of pizza.

"I know right. Pizza is my favourite food," Klarissa said, smiling.

"Anyway, how's it going at your place?" I asked. I knew things were still pretty rocky since her father had left, and her mum was struggling.

"You know when we were at the park, and..." She started.

"Yeah. I remember that," I said. "How could I forget?"

"I saw him standing behind us when we were kissing. Watching us with a deathly stare. It didn't worry me, that's why I didn't stop. I wanted him to see how in love I am, with a girl. When I got home, mum told me that he had been back. He had abused her physically and verbally while we weren't there. He was mad. That's when mum knew for sure that her life would be much better off without him.
