Master Fu was mediating when he heard the jingle of keys outside. He jolted back into reality and quickly turned off the kettle that was about to boil. Someone was outside, trying to open the door. Desperate and fearful, the old man snatched the Miraculous box off the kitchen counter and ran for the nearest window.

"It seems rather quiet." Came a woman's voice, "I doubt that anyone's in there, let along a bunch of teenagers."

Master Fu crawled out the window and landed with a thud. He scampered onto his feet and started as fast as his worn out legs can carry him. Whoever they are, they're looking for the five miraculous holders. I have to warn them!

He continued his run until he ran out of breath. I was so foolish. I should've kept my guard up, not make tea! They'll know for sure that someone has been there. He looked down at the Miraculous box, and then to the path ahead. I'll have to find a way to reach them before they come back and walk straight into their trap, whoever they are...

(A/N you guys already know who it is, the purple butterfly man)

"Shh, Nathalie." Gabriel said softly, "Someone could be watching us. I'm just casually visiting my old home."

His face remained emotionless as he pushed open the heavy wooden door, which squeaked. The scent was so familiar, it brought back good memories and a painful reminder of his wife, Emily.

Nathalie followed Gabriel into the house. Her foot knocked over something and she peered down and saw a small pair of untied sneakers.

"Adrien's." Gabriel explained simply. He shrugged. "Don't bother taking your shoes off."

Nathalie watched as Gabriel strolled into the kitchen and had a look around the house herself. It felt odd, being in this house. It wasn't cold and lonely like the mansion. In fact, despite the dirty floor and the old and stained floral wallpaper, this house was filled with warmth and the invisible presence of a family.

A family.

It made no sense and perfect sense at the same time. Nathalie had found a soft spot for this family. She had been repressing her feelings for Gabriel, and watched Adrien grow more and more dull and unhappy.

Gabriel using his power to make his family happy again isn't wrong... right?

Then she thought about Adrien.

"Nathalie!" Gabriel called from the kitchen, "Where are you?"

"Coming."

"Look at this." Gabriel said, pointing at the stove. A kettle sat on top of it.

Nathalie inspected it. There was steam. "It's hot. Someone was here."

"I knew Adrien would use this house as a hideout. He used to talk about coming back here to visit." Gabriel wiped the kitchen counter with his finger. It was dusty. "I always suspected he was Cat Noir, ever since he started wearing that ring. I think, a part of me didn't want to believe it was him. He jumped off a building and still decided to protect his identity. I could've killed him." Gabriel sighed, "Oh son, why did it have to be you?"

He walked out of the kitchen and inspected the rooms. A single pillow was lying on the mat of the nursery. There was dried blood.

Dupain-Cheng's ear. Gabriel shivered. They were definitely here... But where are they now?

"That girl." Nathalie spoke up, her voice cutting through the tension like a knife, "Wasn't she the one who won that fashion contest you held a couple months ago?"

"Yes." Gabriel answered, "Very talented. I'm almost upset that she had to be the one under the mask."

More silence.

"Where do you think they are?" Natalie asked.

Gabriel smirked. "I don't know, but I know someone who does."

He pulled out a black box and opened it. A purple whoosh of light flies out of the brooch and a kwami appears.

"Nooroo."

The purple butterfly kwami gulped. "Yes Master?"

"Do have any idea where our little heroes may be?"

Nooroo shook her head so quickly that it was evident that she was lying. "I don't know where they are. I've been inside the bo---"

Gabriel grabbed her and raised her up to meet his gaze. "We both know that there will be consequences when you lie to your Master." He threatened.

"I... uh..."

"Tell me!" Gabriel shouted, losing his cool. He was holding the kwami tighter than he intended to and Nooroo started to choke.

"Gabri--- sir!" Nathalie warned. Gabriel came to the realization and loosened his grip.

He opened his eyes and glared at Nooroo. "One last chance."

"Tell him and we'll leave you alone." Nathalie added.

Nooroo sighed. I can't tell him. I'm a kwami. It's my job to protect the miraculouses... but...

"Fine, Master. I'll tell you."
