Envy

Oh that green poison,
That wrenches through her blood.

The pain, the gain, the loss it pertains,
In its grasping, deathly fingers.

Oh what a shock to see,
Her face filled with Envy.

The sea pops and bubbles,
And breaks upon the shore.

With crashing waves it sings,
A song of anger and resentment.

Oh what storm it is,
When the sea is filled with Envy.

The sky cracks and rumbles,
A song of death and new life.

It grows ever hungry,
For the love that the land receives.

Oh and on that day when it can take no more,
The sky explodes with its Envy.

That stringing grip,
It has held upon us all.

The constricting snake just waiting for a chance,
To wrap its ugly head around my neck.

Oh that horrible bile,
That craves for another's gain.

Envy is its name,
It kills slowly with enveloping greed.

Watch that you,
Are not caught up in the web.

Of deathly Envy.
