Patter pat patter pat
The rain splashes on the waves. All the salt water mer take for cover,
From that ghastly sight. If the patter pat patter pat
of that dreaded rain.It slides down our silk skin,
Feeling like slime. It gives us no rest,
Only the shrieks of pain.Patter pat patter pat
Goes the rain drops drum.Feeling like needles to our skin,
and havoc to our minds. When the rain falls,
the mer take for cover.Never leaving out in that rain,
To be brought to swim on the surface.Patter pat patter pat
Is what we all abhor.Fresh water on salt water skins,
The equation does not mix.Patter pat patter pat.
