Autumn Song

67 20 16

A song, of joy and peace,
 restless nights and disdain,
rises from the depths of the heart of Autumn,
A season that bids farewell to Summer and Spring
And makes way for the bitterest of all.

What a calling, this one has,
To take the souls who give it solace
Wear your sweaters and drink your hot teas,
But Autumn will soon pass from you
And leave you in Winter cold.

The power of this season,
 and name of all before,
Claims the hearts of those around
Never to let out from their hopefilled grasps.

My dearest season,
Do take care,
That you know the song of the falling leaves
And all that Autumn holds dear.
