Re-edited :)

It was a cold, dark broody Monday morning. Your breath lingered in the air, creating a fog that settles and disperses in a single moment. Jimin had been woken up at 4am, rudely snatched from his slumber that had only just caught him. He'd been informed of a IC one male had been discovered at Adrien Park in the early hours. When the moon still hung in the sky, the city still asleep like he should be now.

It was found by a young construction worker heading to work, on his usual stroll through the park taken as a short cut. Never once had this man imagined one day on his route he'd be meet upon a gruesome body.

Jimin was further informed, the body had been found with a children's book 'letters of the alphabet' and the letter A carved perfectly into his chest. One last cruel act left by the monster who took his life.

Jimin arrived on the scene groggy and exhausted, not to happy about being disturbed from his sleep. Showing his badge to the officer guarding the area, they pull up the tape, allowing him in. Jimin ducks under the police tape, heading towards his partner whose already beside the body.

"So what do we have Hoseok?" Jimin asks his partner, kneeling down to get a better look at the bloating body.

"Well, Mikey who found the body says that he discovered him at around 3am. He didn't see anyone go in or out of the park while he was there. No one was around the body when he found it. He doesn't recognise the dead man either. He seems legit. No criminal record, twenty six years old. Has a wife and one year old daughter. Been in construction for almost ten years. Definitely don't think he has anything to do with this. Just a poor sod who had to find this poor guy." Hoseok explains, going through the statement he got from Mikey.

"Don't be so sure Hoseok. No one really knows what anyone is capable of." Jimin looks over the body with his expert eye, noticing old bruises staining his damaged wrists, indicating he was restrained.

Jimin takes a moment to devour ever bing he could, he glances up to see Jin examining the body. Jin smiles at him, face still puffy from recently waking up.

"Jin what are your thoughts?" Jimin returns his gaze to the body, beginning to notice more, such like viscous burn marks covering all areas of his sunken in stomach.

"He has a deep laceration on his neck, deep enough to cut his carotid artery and trachea. He has severe third degree burns across his chest, arms and thighs. Indicating that he was either electrocuted or shocked. The bruising on his wrists is most likely caused by being restrained. The letter carved into his upper chest appears to be post-mortem but I can't be sure until I get him back to the lab. But what I am certain of is that the laceration on his neck was what killed him." His gloved hand hovers over the wound to his throat, pointing out the gruesome state his throat has been left in.

Jimin could only imagine the anger, the hatred the killer must yield to be capable of something so brutal and animalistic. Such an unnecessary depth the wound has, like they were pressing down so hard they wanted to slice his neck in two.

"You are most certainly looking for someone either trained in some form of human anatomy or extremely skilled. These laceration are precise and neatly made- meaning they are confident with a knife. I'll be able to determine more when I get him to the lab." Jin signals for his men to come with the gurney, ready to take the body back for more extensive examination.

"Do you have a time of death?" Jimin inquired as he stands up, Jin following suit.

Jin removes his gloves, taking his protective hood off, not needing to be so covered.

"Not an exact one, be able to determine that later. But roughly in the last twelve hours." Jin says, placing his mask back on as they start lifting his body to be placed in the bag.

Jimin simply nods, thanking Jin for all the information he was able to give him. Jimin begins scoping the scene, trying to figure out the significance of the killers dumping place. It's just a simple park, not flash nor special, just a park where children play and families gathered for BBQ's or picnics.

A playground made home in the far west corner, picnic tables scattered around in various places. A small lake sat off to the left, a dog walking trail swirling around. Its just a local family park. So why did the killer chose this place? What was the purpose? It clearly wasn't to hide the body, this park being one of the most popular places in the summer.

It wasn't where the man was killed either, no blood or anything indicating this was where he was killed. So the killer purposely went out of their way to place the body here.

Only one conclusion comes to Jimin's mind, the killer wanted the body to be found, wanted the police to investigate. And this sent blaring alert bells through Jimin's head, hammering into his skull warning him this wasn't good. If the killer wanted the body to be found, it means they don't think they will get caught. They're confident, they're not afraid to show off- this can only mean more bodies.

The killer isn't finished, this is just the beginning to something more. This worried him, the body they found was in a brutal, grotesque condition. The man clearly had been held captive for long enough for a few of his wounds to have started healing. Clearly showing the killer likes to keep their victims, for awhile at least. They like to torture them, starve them, burn them with some sort of instrument. And then there's the issue of the carving in the victim's chest.

What significance does that hold? Is it the killers name? Killers signature? or simply just a ruse to throw the police off.

Jimin sighs in annoyance, it being too early to be dealing with such a gruesome case. He looks around, finding no tire marks or drag marks in the damp grass. Meaning the killer either carried the man's body-indicating they were strong or used something to carry the body. The killer was smart, Jimin will give them that. Able to sneak in and out of this park carrying a body without getting noticed. Granted it must of been night when they did it, but still it was impressive.

"What are you thinking Jimin?" Hoseok comes beside him, tucking his notepad into his pocket.

"I'm thinking I should still be in bed." Jimin huffs, his body not quite yet awake, muscles still aching with sleep.

"I agree with you on that." Hoseok laughs, trying to lighten up the mood, even if it couldn't be.

"What I'm really thinking is that, our killer is smart. Clearly trained in some form of human anatomy. Knows exactly what they are doing, they chose this place specifically. They wanted the body to be found, purposefully leaving it in a very public place." His eyes trail to Hoseok, conviction in his voice as his mind rambles with ideas and theories.

"They must be strong, or at least fit since I don't see any tire or drag marks anywhere. And I am certain they are not finished." They both shared a nervous look, neither liking them thought there would be more of this. More of this horrific bloodshed.

"That man was tortured for god knows how long, kept somewhere before he was killed, this shows it was planned. The killer specifically chose him. And that's what worries me. If the killer planned this, what else is there. And what the hell does the A mean?" Jimin's eyebrows farrow, scrunching as he tries thinking hard at what it could be or why the killer bothered carving it.

"It was carved perfectly into his skin . It clearly means something, if the killer spent time after killing him to carve it. What is it? The killers signature, name or just something to throw us off. And what is the reason for the book? letters of the alphabet; it's a children's book. How does that relate to the man or the killer." Jimin shakes his head, running his fingers through his pitch black locks, tangling in the uncombed bed head.

"Looks like it's going to be a long morning then". Hoseok rubs his itching eyes that were begging for sleep, he lets a groan slip, aware how serious this case is.

Jimin nods, closing his eyes, taking a long breath to regain his thoughts. Deciding they've seen enough, it still too dark to fully see anything. It will be better to head to the precinct, find out what else Jin has uncovered.

"Come on Hoseok, let's go back to the precinct. We've seen all we can here, we will come back when there's light. Let's go see what else Jin has found out from the body." Jimin starts walking away, leaving the crime scene in the dust.
