Nathan fell asleep on his mother's lap. Mrs. Lena Conner had been stroking her son's hair warily.

"Neil, would you please stop this issue about money? I think Nathan is having a hard time right now," Lena cried.

"I understand. But I must hear the story about Sophia and her daughter." Neil Conner replied thoughtfully.

"Why don't you call Henry? I'm sure he knows it," his wife suggested.

"No, we must hear it from Nathan." He refused.

Then, Neil asked the housemaids to carry Nathan to the bedroom.

The following day, Nathan was surprised to see himself lying in his bedroom. It didn't change as everything was still in its place where he left it.

"Good Morning, my son." Lena greeted me while carrying the breakfast. She placed it down on the bedside table and kissed her son's forehead. "How are you, my son? I guess you had a long tiring one last night. Am I right?"

Nathan nodded for an answer, and before he could speak his father also came into his room.

"So, can I hear the explanation?" Neil started.

"Neil, please, let your son have his breakfast first, for heaven's sake!" Lena was a bit upset.

"Auntie Sophia has Colon cancer," Nathan stated that the couple was shocked. "She's at St. Andrew's Hospital." He continued.

Lena covered her mouth in shock while Neil fell to his knees on the floor.

"I've been helping them these past few days. The operation is already scheduled." Nathan paused.

Then tears suddenly started to come out of his eyes just like last night.

"I didn't know, dad. I didn't know," he cried and punched his knees.

Lena quickly held his hand to stop, thinking Nathan felt guilty about what happened.

On the other hand, Neil left without saying a word after hearing his son's explanation.

"Nathan," Lena also cried.

"I love her mom. I love her so much. I'm in love with my cousin!" He shouted in fury. Lena could only do was to embrace her son tightly.

"It's going to be okay, sweetheart, it's going to be okay," she murmured, comforting him.

"Mom," he continued to cry and weep.

"You can surpass this, son. You are a strong, handsome, good man, and you've done it before, forgetting your heartache, like with Anne. Remember? You can forget about her too. I'm sure ___." Lena started speaking of thoughts that would perhaps encourage her son to live on despite the terrible things. But Nathan cut her off.

"What I felt when I heard Anne was getting married differs from what I feel right now, Mom. The pain is nothing compared to this one. I love Kimberly so much. I truly love her," Nathan was so damn frustrated.

"But you have to stop it, Nathan. You knew it. I'm afraid that's not the right thing to do," his mother disagreed.

Lena was obviously against it, or the whole world was against how he felt. Nathan just pulled out the blanket and covered himself.

"Nathan," Lena only cried her son's name.

"Mom, please, I want to be alone," Nathan replied.

Nathan locked himself inside his room, turned off his cell phone, and refused to eat properly. Only because of his mother does he eat at least a little of the food she brought into his bed.
