pain is an accessory
some people are addicted to the high
some the aesthetic of the low
people cover their skin with faux scars
drawing open cuts
and painting bloody wounds
in this world
the breaking
fit in with those
who try to
matching threats with jokes
blurring the lines
until they fall into the chasm in between
in this world
illness is a label
it's "cute" to be falling apart
but to be actually broken
is to be
weak
in this world
pain is "beautiful"
pain is a limited edition badge
that everyone wears with pride
pain is "romantic" and "aesthetic"
in this world
pain is a horrible
glamoured version of itself
and i wish it wasn't
