STAR IN TIME
she folds her fragile legs around my body and cuddles up,
So warm and comfortable are her arms around my waist

There we lay on days when our love was as fresh as tulips,
Staring at the ceiling while smiling at each other
Stealing quick glances at each other

We kiss so passionately like tomorrow is unsure of us
Hugs so tight and cozy beyond any other- favorite place to be

There we stood at dusk in each other's arms staring at the sun setting
So sure of each other and peaceful at that

We laugh out loud without a care in the world
Talk about our future like seers
A perfect tomorrow

There we sat on the rooftop with coffee gone cold,
Making plans

He strokes my hair as he watches me sleep off
Singing lullaby of whose lyrics I know
So I can't sleep

Those were days we both couldn't sleep
So we pretended to sleep until we made love to each other and slept in love and exhaustion

I have a favorite star I look at each night before I sleep off
It shines the brightest,
Appears first and leaves last
When am asleep.

Ethan died five months back
We argued about fireflies and stars on the eve of his death
He said he would be the brightest star
And the only star that argued with time

I miss him,
My heart feels empty
And my bed is cold
You are not around anymore

and when we make love in my dreams ,
I wake up sad
I can't do this anymore
Am aging at twenty,
There is nothing more for me anymore
I have loved you Ethan, in life and in death
I still love you
