HIATUS-Till Death Do Us Apart (Supercorp)

"Kara, over here!" Lena eagerly waved to signal Kara to get her attention because she looked lost in the crowded bar.

Kara was relieved to see a familiar face, she kissed Lena on the cheeks before she settled down. Snapper made her do overtime by throwing her article into the trash bin and forced her to redo everything. Kara was apologetic because she made Lena waited for over an hour, and she offered to buy all rounds for Lena, but as usual Lena declined it.

"Hey, what do you want to drink? I did order a beer for you if you don't mind since I've always see you with a bottle of beer during game night."

Meanwhile, Lena was sipping on her red wine. Kara was playing with her fingers before braving up her courage and moving closer to Lena, whispering into Lena's right ear, "why did you ask me to come here tonight?"

Before Kara could realize it, Lena was just an inch away from Kara's face, she blushed and silently thanked god that Lena didn't see it because of the poorly lit bar. Lena whispered back into Kara's left ear saying, "oh actually I do have something to ask you."

Kara felt butterflies in her stomach, she knew that she always has a thing for this woman, but she never felt it real until tonight. Lena Luthor asked her out and now their faces were so close that she could smell Lena's breath filled with red wine. Kara nodded to allow Lena to continue the conversation.

"Did you know if Supergirl has someone whom she likes?"

Kara awkwardly laughed maybe a bit too exaggerating, which startled Lena, she has never heard Kara laughed that way before. Lena raised her left eyebrow and felt slightly offended that Kara was making a fool out of her.

The bartender slides a beer towards Kara, she quickly gulps down half of it and wipes the excess foam from the side of her mouth. "How possibly do I know about Supergirl's love life? I may have interviewed her for my articles, but she does not share anything about her personal life with me."

Kara noticed the change in Lena's face and quickly grabbed Lena's hand to reassure her that she was not laughing at her, she laughed because Lena assumes that Kara was close with Supergirl. "I think Supergirl likes you." Kara spat out her mouthful of beer onto her hand, Lena quickly grabbed the napkin and wiped Kara's hand.

Kara didn't know how to respond to that, she simply laughed and told Lena, "Lena, I assured you that Supergirl definitely has no time for romance, she is always there to save the day, I'm just a reporter struggling to get my article done before the deadline, if Supergirl was to like someone, I think the person would be you." Lena was dumbfounded, and her cheek turned bright red, Kara might have regretted saying that last sentence.

Lena sipped the rest of her red wine and ordered another glass from the bartender. Turning herself to Kara, "you know that it's impossible right? I'm a Luthor, most people won't touch a Luthor with a ten-foot pole."

"Don't say that, Lena. The Luthor name doesn't deserve you. You rebuilt L-Corp to prove it to people that you are not like Lex or Lillian, you saved lives unlike the two of them. Give people time, they will see your true intention sooner or later. I'm always here for you no matter what happens, I promise."

Lena looked at Kara, both eyes filled with tears. "I think when I feel things again, I'm going to be very, very afraid... about the person I might be."

Kara pulled Lena into a hug and rubbed her back to reassure her that everything is going to be fine. That's when the bartender slides another glass of red wine towards them. Lena broke into a a faint smile and pulled away from Kara, "when I thought tonight was going to be a fun night, now I have turned it into a sobbing mess."

Lena dipped her finger into the glass of red wine and drank it all in one breath. Kara worried for her and told her not to drink too fast, Lena shook her head. "Lena, maybe it's time to call it a night. I'm going to call you a cab and send you home."

Kara pulled out her phone from her coat pocket, Lena stopped her. "Stay with me, I don't want to go home yet. I want to drink till the bar closes for the night." Kara was frustrated, she doesn't like seeing Lena in this state.

Kara made a deal with Lena that she can continue to drink but it will be at her own premise. Lena nodded her head, placed a hundred on the table, and pulled Kara towards her. She rested her head on Kara's shoulder, Kara grabbed Lena's waist and lifted the both up from their seats and slowly made their way towards the exit.

Lena's arm was around Kara's shoulder and Kara was stretching out her free hand to flag down a cab back to Lena's penthouse. After five minutes of waiting, they were in the cab. Supergirl always pays a visit to Lena's penthouse, Kara recites the address to the cab driver and off they go. The cab ride from the bar to Lena's penthouse was about 20 minutes, Lena was already asleep on Kara's shoulder.

Strands of brunette hair were all over her face, Kara brushed those strands and tucked it behind Lena's ear. Kara moved her fingers from Lena's ear to her cheek, she gently touched and then kissed Lena's forehead. She looked out of the window, thinking if Lena will still remember what she said in the bar when she wakes up. She wanted to tell Lena that she is Supergirl and she loves Lena despite her last name but how would Lena react knowing that her best friend is actually National City's heroine.

Kara pulled a fifty out and told the driver to keep the change. She grabbed Lena by her waist and walked towards the private elevator. Lena was mumbling, Kara looked at her, wishing that she could take Lena's pain and suffering away. Lena deserves so much more, she deserves to be loved by someone and not live under the unfair judgments of the people.

Kara put Lena down onto her bed and began to take off her heels so she can tuck her in. Lena grabbed Kara's wrist, pulled her down and whispered into Kara's ear, "please stay with me tonight." Kara looked at Lena, continued to remove her heels and then went to get a set of sleepwear from the drawer.

All she could find was silk lingerie, Kara was embarrassed to picture Lena in those and quickly closed the drawer. She went on to search other drawers and finally found an old university sweater and a pair of pajamas shorts.

Lena started to untie the knot of her outer coat, instead of doing it herself, she spread her arms wide apart to let Kara do it for her. Kara wanted to get this over and be done with, she removed the outer coat and pulled up Lena's body-con black dress with a plunging neckline, she hesitated to look at Lena's body; there's no way for her to take advantage of a drunk person.

Kara went to the medicine cabinet to find aspirin for Lena's hungover. She placed a glass of water and aspirin on the bedside table then kissed Lena forehead goodbye. When she was about to turn away from Lena, Lena grabbed her hand, "I told you to stay with me, why did you leave me alone...?"

Kara let out a breath and bent down, telling Lena that she won't go anywhere, she was just going to find herself some clothes to change into and she will go to bed with her. Lena kissed Kara's cheeks and told her to be quick.

After changing, Kara slipped into the bed beside Lena. She placed both of her hands onto her stomach to keep a distance from Lena, meanwhile in her head, she kept telling herself, do not take advantage of a drunk Lena. Lena moves herself towards Kara and then slid her hand into Kara's.

Kara fidgeted, she pushed Lena's hand away and pulled up the blanket, so Lena could feel the warmth. Lena tried to slide her hand into Kara's again, this time she pulled Kara by her side and her head was on Kara's shoulder. "Promise you won't leave me again." Kara circled her thumb on Lena's knuckles and kissed her hair and said, "I promise."

She listens to Lena's heartbeat drifts into a slower pace and then she falls asleep with Lena's hand in hers.
