The music studio was haunted; that was the rumor that kept spreading. On several occasions there were accounts of a thin, shadowy figure lurking in all black, but no one ever saw his face or heard his voice. He usually slipped behind corners and disappeared before he could be approached. Many claimed he was a ghost, but was he? Since no one could identify him it was possible, and as long as he caused no trouble, no one really tried to investigate any further. But if that were really the case, there would be no story to tell.

Though usually just referred to as the Studio, the building was much more than that. It contained a recording studio, rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms for its stars, offices, and an auditorium--quite a large and opulent one, with a crystal-decorated chandelier that hung above the audience seating. After all, it was owned by one of the most wealthy families in South Korea, whose heir looked after it and had some creative power over the place and its management.

This family also owned the record label of which one of Korea's most famous singers, a young man known as Jeon Jungkook, belonged to. That being said, the Studio was used almost exclusively for Jungkook's line of work. Though he had been a sweet and humble person when he was discovered at the ripe age of fourteen, with a crisp and serene voice, finding fame so young had taken its toll on him. It perhaps didn't help that he had always been a solo star. Once upon a time he performed with all of the effort he could muster and all of the passion that his voice could convey. Yet, now he walked onstage to be greeted by frantic cheering and only worked as much as he had to.

Either way, his fans were so were so wrapped around his finger that they were never going to find flaws in him. His arrogance had taken away what was once so magical about his voice, and yet the world raved on. The Studio was his palace and everyone who worked there were his minions. This was nothing to bother Kim Seokjin, the heir of the monopolizing family who primarily looked after the studio and its affairs. He saw Jungkook's arrogance as confidence--it was a rather harmless trait in this business. As long as his weekly concerts sold out and his albums made their normal millions, he had no intention to push for another star. Jungkook had it all, and Seokjin was going to milk that talent for what it was worth.

It was to be argued, though, that perhaps the supposed ghost didn't like the star--or maybe Jungkook was just very unlucky. The incidents were typically minor ones, practically pranks, like his phone going missing for several hours only to be found in an odd place, perhaps the top of a bookshelf in one of the offices. Sometimes holes were found in his pants when he went to put them on. Other times, he would be locked in his dressing room and left to pound on the door and scream until someone let him out. No matter what it was, he lost all self control and released his wrath upon anyone near him. He certainly had a temper, though it only ever came out when such pranks were pulled. Usually, though he was cocky and sarcastic, he did have a natural charm about him. But when anything went wrong, he swore to find whoever was victimizing him and ruin their life. Many would pass blame on the ghost, but he didn't believe there was such a thing. The worst trick yet was yet to come, with accidentally fated timing.

Just beforehand, Kim Seokjin had welcomed home his little brother, Taehyung, who had been studying abroad for the past several years. Taehyung had been a very diligent and motivated youth, enough to skip grades in high school and begin college early. The decision to go abroad was made by his father, who thought the young man could expand his knowledge of business better elsewhere. Since Seokjin had already been promised their music fortunes, Taehyung would someday have to make a name for himself in a different realm. Yet even with these tensions, Seokjin maintained a healthy and loving relationship with his younger brother, and enjoyed spoiling him whenever he was home. Thus, the brothers had agreed to go to one of Jungkook's concerts together now that he had returned, and perhaps take a tour of the studio afterward. After all, Taehyung had left just as Jungkook was being discovered; Jungkook's fame and the studio were all new to him.
