Chapter 3 : Broken Promise

The sound of a puppy whimpering surrounded every corner of the room.

Jennie's P.O.V

I slowly opened my eyes and searched for kuma.

"Kuma? Why are you groaning? Aren't you happy that today is your mommy's birthday? Come here kuku!"
I called out for the pup but he kept whimpering.

"No? You don't wanna come to mommy? Kuma come on.!"
I called him again but unlike the other days, today he didn't come running to me licking all over my face.

Instead, he ran towards his place and pulled out something.

"Kuma what are you doing?"

But he didn't dare to look at me.

"Come here kuku!"
I called out again and this time he came running to me with something on his mouth.

"Good boy kuma! And what's that on your mouth?"
I was curious to know what was on his mouth and I found out that it was...
"A necklace? This is......Lisa's necklace"

Kuma started to sniff on to the necklace and whimper again.

I half heartedly smiled.
"You miss Lisa? Kuma Am I right?"

"Well I miss her too...."

"I miss her so much"

Thinking of her made me 'lonely'
That's what I would say.

"Kuma give this to mommy.Mommy will give it to Lisa"

I took the necklace from kuma since be would probably destroy it and that's the least that I want.

"Kuma do you miss those days when Lisa used to play with you? I know you miss it.You miss jumping around and chasing Lisa.You miss stealing her ice cream.You miss teasing her right? You miss barking at her when.........."

"....when she used to kiss me."

"Yah! Kuma? Aren't you going to wish me Happy Birthday? Huh?"

"Come on...At least you could do that....."

"......because there is no Lisa this time."

"......No good morning kisses from Lisa. No cuddles and hugs from Lisa. No milk ice cream from Lisa"
I giggled at myself when I said the last line.Lisa always bought milk ice cream for me earlier.Or maybe I always tell her to bring.

"No Happy Birthday wish early in the morning from Lisa."

"So basically there is no one to wake me up, kiss me and wish me a happy birthday.So you are the only one left now kuma."

"Say happy birthday to mommy?"

"Argh! Come on kuma.Don't be stubborn like Lisa.Come on...Be a good boy!"

"Now wish mommy!"

"No? You don't love mommy?"

"Okay Fine.!"

I let out a heavy sigh.

"Are you crazy Jennie? Why are you talking to a dog?"

Maybe, I broke our promise Lisa.I am sorry for that.

"I'm sorry Lisa, I can't stop thinking about you!"

"I miss you"

"I love you"
I whispered to myself.
