Caitlin sat at the desk in Cortex monitoring the boys on the mission. Although they seemed to have it under control, with Charlie subbing in for Caitlin while she is in her current status. She sometimes didn't mind taking a break from the field, but mostly she constantly felt bored on the sideline. Unfortunately, she also knew that she still wouldn't be on the field often after the babies are born, assuming the team would take turns to monitor the missions, go on the field, and watch the newborns. Once she was able to fight again Caitlin knew she would try and make the most of that time, since she understood the dangers. Both she and Barry knew the trauma of living without parents. She thought she'd decrease the chances of that happening by 50%.

Yes, she would miss fighting crime alongside her best friends, and being the badass woman, but she couldn't make Barry give up being the Flash nor did Cisco have a reason to put down his goggles yet.  Even if Cisco were to, if something happened to both Barry and Caitlin she could never ask him to protect the city, care for two children, and overcome the grief of his two bestfriends all at the same time.

This was the safest way, Caitlin knew it, but it didn't mean she wouldn't miss her days fighting crime. She told herself, "one final mission after the babies are born, then I'll retire and then guiding them through life will be my new mission."

Caitlin spun the chair while she waited for the boys to finish their mission when all the sudden her stomach roared as loud as Grodd did when he was pulled through that breach. Caitlin rubbed her stomach and groaned.

"You two have an appetite like your father," Caitlin said. It made sense, considering she was eating for three and they are half Barry, who needed at least 200 million hamburgers worth of calories daily to survive. Her stomach growled once more, and Caitlin felt the hormones and hangriness overcoming her.

Fluffy fluf fluff + proper character/story development + foreshadowing... >:-)

^two of which most CW storylines usually lack due to lazy writing or falling into agressive fans culture pressure^ Can u guess which ones...

Ok, nevermind my little rant. Anyways... How did you guys like this chapter? All the positive support has been amazing! Do you think Caitlin is making the right choice, thinking about retiring from superhero work? How many calories does Caitlin have to eat if she is carrying two potential speedster babies?

Short chapter, I know. I'm trying to grind through these chapters since I have so many other ideas for continuations and other stories. I really should be studying though.

What would you guys like to see next from me?

-A story that connects the events in Destiny to the ones in Star City with Oliver, Felicity, Will, and Connor-

-Instead of Barry being stuck in the speed for six months he is in it for nine, and a lot can happen in nine months. savifrost-

-The Legends find a familiar face floating around in the Temporal Zone and they bring him back to Team Flash, but what happens when the one reason he wanted to come back doesn't want him anymore? snowstorm-

(either way, I would eventually be writing these stories sometime in the future)
