How I think this ship would eventually work is by Chloé feeling bad for Marinette or wanting to be her friend after Adrien maybe moves away or falls in love with another girl. The reason I say this makes since is because Chloé would then need to find other friends expect for Adrien, and looking at how forgiving Mari is, it would make since for Chloé to go to Marinette first.
