You stepped out into the hallway into an immediate fray of bullets. The white masks had been reinforced while you were getting Ela up and there was at least 12 of them. When you saw the numbers, you quickly pulled Ela behind you for cover, as you were much more armored than she was. You continually sprayed with your Scorpion, and Ela was able to pick off head shots. You had taken out 3 before you even started your march down the hallway. You continued pushing onwards, hoping that by some miracle you'd live. You continued firing in bursts, towards the heads of your enemies that were peeking out around the door frames. You had taken out another 5, when you were hit in the left shoulder, just missing your body armor. You flinched but kept firing. Another 2 had been taken down, when you were hit once more this time in the leg. You flinched and your leg shot back, causing you to stumble. This revealed Ela and gave her an open line to the remaining two white masks, who she swiftly and expertly put 2 9 mm rounds in their heads. The hallway was quiet, although outside intense fighting could be heard. You could only hope that the Deltas and CBRN had arrived, to help relieve you. You looked at Ela, and you both shared a laugh, before you changed your positions and leaned on each other for support in walking. She was still bleeding and starting again to drift off, as the adrenaline was starting to lose its effects. As you approached the door, a larger man turned the corner, wearing a white mask with a red stripe down the center. He carried a similar assault rifle to those who lay on the floor around you, but you guessed he was much more elite. He was shocked at the sight of you both and raised his rifle. The sight of him also took you both by surprise, you pulled up your weapon first, and heard a click from the bolt. A single round left his assault rifle, and it embedded itself in your left arm. After this, Ela had placed a round in his head, and his red stripe began to fade into the blood that changed the color of his mask. "You might need these." Ela said to you, holing out two high capacity magazines for her scorpion. You took one and loaded it into the gun and pulled the bolt back into place, and placed the other in your vest. You got to the end of the hallway, and outside was a small L shaped desk that you two laid down against. You were both wounded exhausted and running low on ammunition. The fighting was as intense as ever, and you still had no idea if the Deltas and CBRN forces had arrived yet. "Cipher to all, is the cavalry here yet?" you asked. You received a resounding "No". "We need to tend to your wounds." Ela said trying to find something to put pressure on your wounds for you. Your body was screaming from the pain, and you were bleeding quite badly. "Cipher to all, You guys have to finish this fight on your own. Ela and I are both hit, and bleeding out. Godspeed my friends." you said to your team, who was still fighting against an army. "Don't you quit on us comrade." Kapkan said back to you, but you cut off the rest of the talk by disconnecting your radio. "We had a good run, didn't we?" you asked Ela who lay with her head on your shoulder holding her wound and the wound on your leg. "We sure did." she muttered to you. "If we somehow get out this, I'm retiring for good." you said with a laugh. That laugh quickly turned into a cough, with which came blood. "Me too." she replied back. She then drifted off for a second before pulling herself back to stay alert. "I'll go back to the trees, and the lake, and the birds, and the quiet, and live out my days there." you said to her. "But if die, find me in heaven." she said to you. "I promise." you said with a smile before you drifted off into unconsciousness.

You were awoken by a Delta medic. "Come back to me pal." he said to you. The gunfire had stopped, and the special forces were running around clearing the building of all threats. "Get me some stretchers!" he yelled over the counter to his team. "You're going to be alright." he said before you slipped back into unconsciousness.

You jerked yourself awake, as if you had awaken from some terrible nightmare. You saw the familiar white walls of a hospital first and then all of the equipment that you were hooked up to. You laid back in your bed and and watched the blood drip for a while before a nurse came into check on you. "Good to see you awake." she said to you. "What the hell happened." you asked still groggy from all of the drugs. "Where's my team?" you asked remembering the operation you were on. "Where's my equipment?" you asked starting to panic "Easy Cipher." Six said from the door. You were quite surprised to see her here. "Can you give us a moment?" she asked the nurse who promptly left, closing the door behind her. "What happened?" you asked her. "You lost too much blood and lost consciousness." she said to you. "What happened to my equipment?" you asked her. "It's safe. The Deltas are keeping it until you're ready to leave here." she added. "I had the bio-weapon in my bag..." you started. "I know CBRN found it and it's being disposed of right now." she interrupted you. "You did a fine job Cipher." she added. You began to relax some more knowing that the main objectives of your mission had been completed. "What about my team? Are they alright?" you asked. You remembered them being under heavy fire as well. "They all made it out alright. The Deltas arrived very quickly. Kapkan tells me they arrived almost as soon as he lost radio contact with you and Ela." she replied. "How's Ela?" you asked concerned. "She pulled through. She's still under but she'll be up soon enough." she answered. You sat there looking up at the ceiling for some time processing all of the information you had just received. "The other teams have not encountered anything yet." she said to you. You found this news quite comforting, as it was only your airport that was in danger. "Where do we go from here?" you asked her. "Some of the white masks were more elite than the others. they had a white mask with a red stripe down the center. They contained phones with some data on them that we used to find their base of operations. Once we gather the strength we need, we'll make an assault on the place. But your duty is over Cipher. You fulfilled your end of the deal and you're free to go now." she said to you. You had completely forgot that you had only signed on to stop this bio-weapon from being released. She was right, your duty was fulfilled. You were again a free man. From what you gathered the white masks, were handed a decisive defeat, one that could put them on the defensive for quite some time. They're still too large for this attack to be their last, but it would at least slow them down and force them to regroup and reform. Rainbow seemed in a good position, and you started to feel that they didn't need your assistance any longer. "Although you would be an incredible member to have around." she added. You knew that she was trying to get you to stay for your decryptor. However, the memory of your parents, and the fact that this whole mess was started because of your decryptor, was too much for you to allow for its use any longer. You decided that this technology, at least in this form, should be buried until the world was ready for it. It is, at this moment, too dangerous a weapon to let anyone have, even yourself. "Sorry but I don't think I can take much more of this." you started. "I only came back because I was needed. Right now you seem like you're in a great strategic position. That coupled with me almost losing some of my dearest friends and Ela, I don't think I can continue to do this, nor do I think that you need me to continue doing this." you said to her. She simply nodded at your answer. Is there anyway I can be with Ela when she wakes up?" you asked her. "That is a question for the nurse, not me." she said. "Fair enough." you replied. She then stood up and headed for the door. "If something like this happens again, and you desperately need people. You know where to find me." you said to her as she was opening the door. "Thanks Cipher." she said to you before closing the door behind her.

You were able to get a wheelchair to Ela's room. She was still under when you arrived. She was hooked up to oxygen as well as an IV drip and blood bags. She seemed really drained still, and the bruises and cuts from combat could be seen on her arms, and her face. The nurse pulled you up next to her right side. "Thank you." you whispered to her. She simply nodded and and gave you a wink before closing the door and leaving you two alone in the room. You had "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." on your lap. You picked it up and began to read to her. You weren't sure whether or not she could hear you but, if she woke up to the sound of your voice, it might help calm her. After reading only a couple of lines, her eyes started to flutter, and eventually, opened revealing her blue green eyes. "Hey." you said while placing her hand on her cheek. "Hey." she replied, lifting her hand over yours. "How do you feel?" you asked her with a smile. "Like shit." she replied back, with a chuckle. "We've got a lot of catching up to do." you said to her before you put the bookmark back into the novel and filled her in on the details.
