Halt glanced over at his partner. Crowley was radiating cheer, humming softly to himself. While it did sound rather nice, Halt wasn't in the mood.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

Crowley cocked a brow at him. "Humming Saving Grace."

Halt frowned. Where had he heard the name before?

"You ever heard of the song?" Crowley asked. Halt shrugged. He couldn't say he had. Unfortunately, his partner took that as his cue to sing.

"Do you remember,

When we were together,

You were the one, that,

Made, me want, to stay,

Fore-e-ver,

You made me laugh, when I, cried,

You were the light, of my, life,

You put a smile, on, my face,

You were my sa-a-ving, grace

No matter what, we'll be together,

My love will last, fore-e-ver,

You are the sun, to my, sky,

My sa-a-ving, grace,"

Halt suddenly recognized the song. It was a song his(deceased) mother had sang to him as a child. Saving Grace. He really missed his mom.

Without another word, Halt sang the next verse, softly, under his breath.

"I know my time has come,

To depart, this world,

But Death, hasn't, won,

I'll be with you fore-e-ver,"

He paused suddenly, hearing a second voice add into the music. Crowley's. The taller man had slipped effortlessly into harmony with him. His voice was pure and lilting, rather like his mother's. A tear sprang to his eye, and he continued singing.

"Keep a smile on your face,

My love, my sa-a-ving, grace,

I know you walk a lonely road,

Yet, with you, I'll stay,

And, I'll walk with you, all, the way,

Hold your head high,

Keep a smile on your face,

You, are, my love,

My sa-a-ving, grace."

Crowley continued singing, this time taking the lead, and Halt stopped, letting Crowley sing solo.

"And I know, the road is long,

Days of joy, long, gone.

But, you keep a smile on your face,

I'll stay with you, my sa-a-ving, grace,

I, know, the road will end,

We'll be united once again,

Hold your head, high, in hope,

Keep a smile on your face,

My love, my sa-a-ving, grace,

I'll walk with you,

every step of the way,

In your heart, I'm here to stay,

Have hope,

We'll be one, again,

I know, that, it'll end,

The pain, lifted off your back,

We'll see eachother,

Once, again."

Crowley turned to grin at his sullen companion and noticed something unusual.

Halt wasn't with him.

Worried, Crowley turned into an alley. Perhaps Halt had gone over here; after all, that was where they'd last passed. He crept forwards, fearing the worst, and saw him. Fighting...monsters?

Hellhounds! And the Minotaur! Draecenae! No way Halt can fight off those!

Nocking about five arrows, Crowley aimed and fired, killing five of the monsters. His eyes narrowed and his mind stilled, the mantra repeating in his head. Nock..Aim..Draw..Fire..Nock..Aim..Draw..Fire..Nock..Aim..Draw..Fire...

He finally stopped, relieved. The monsters were, mostly, all gone, and those remaining were quickly killed by Halt and his daggers. Crowley held out his hand and his arrows came back to him, shouldered his bow, and walked towards Halt.

"So." the two of them said. "You're a demigod?"
