"Detective, the rabbit masked killer is a dangerous case," continued Ran Rin.

Come to think of it, you haven't thought much about the case that the boss' assistant assigned to you. You were too distracted and determined to catch the MAFIA, you forgot about the other case. You haven't even given your boss an answer.

Speaking of the MAFIA case, you should continue it soon. It felt weird, you got so used to working everyday you forgot how a day off felt.

The skies showed signs that the sun was already down. A wind suddenly blowing in the area, clothes dancing along with the wind, and your hair swaying back and forth. Despite the coldness, Ran Rin still kept her hands behind her back and didn't even bother to shove her hands in her pockets though it was obvious she was shivering. Or was it an act of nervousness?

"Detective-"

You soon cut her off, "Ran Rin, I understand and thank you in advance for warning me about this masked killer but," Ran Rin stared back at you, mouth gaped open a bit and confused on why you didn't let her continue.

"Do any of these information somehow connect to the MAFIA one?"

She forgot. You were only assigned in the MAFIA case. Ran Rin took one hand out and pondered for a moment before speaking up.

"Well, yes. They are somewhat connected but that rabbit killer will be a nuisance to your investigation. So you better focus and stay alert," said Ran Rin.

You perked up from the word 'connected'. "How is it connected?"

Ran Rin took a step forward and clutched her chest, her words bringing out strong emotion, "Just don't get fooled by the rabbit's tricks! It's like he has eyes everywhere."

You shuddered from the thought, glancing around and checked every area where a person could hide, "You wouldn't know, your friends are probably your enemies."

Ran Rin took another step forward while you took a step back, uncomfortable about the situation. You didn't know where this was going but you're definitely sure that the atmosphere is really creeping you out, "Detective, don't trust anyone."

"Ran Rin, what are you-"

You jumped, as she suddenly pointed a gun at you, the one she has hidden behind her back the whole time, "Even me."

You meant no harm, you tried to reconcile with Ran Rin, though you took precaution since she had a gun with her, "Ran Rin, you shouldn't do this," you said as you took a step forward, trying to convince her to drop the gun.

You pondered, what if she was forced to do this? It was clear in her eyes that she didn't want to do this thing. Her hand was shaking, from both the coldness and probably from nervousness.

"Tsk, tsk..."

Another voice startled you. It was coming from behind, so you turned around. A red-haired man wearing a white mask with designs, the memories were slightly fading away but you recognize him, "The man who... helped me out in the hotel."

The said man flinched, but remained his composure, "¹ 해. 그녀를 쏴라."

Ran Rin was even more scared, she couldn't control her nervousness as her hands were shaking. The waitress was glancing between you and the red-haired man, "² 미안해."

You didn't know where to position yourself, you were in the middle of the two people you couldn't go near. One had a gun, another was suspicious. You turned to look at Ran Rin, who was unstable. You mustered up the courage to approach the woman and calm her down.

"Ran Rin, put the gun down," Ran Rin didn't know which order to follow, but she knew she didn't want to do this. She lowered her gun, but still kept her guard up.

"Ran Rin!"

The said girl jumped from the yell, it came from the red-haired male. She immediately raised her gun back up and aimed it at you. The wind was cold, yet you were sweating from the feeling of uneasiness. You wanted to end the problem in a peaceful way possible, but the masked man was preventing it from happening. You weren't carrying any weapon, and even if you did, you couldn't make a move because of Ran Rin. You didn't even know what this man is capable of doing, "³ 나에게 순종하라고 너 전에 말하지 않았 니?"

"Ran Rin, don't listen to him! I know you don't want to do it," You tried to reassure her, but it was no use. She was clearly scared.

"⁴ 나는 통제되고 싶지 않아! 나는 그것을 싫어한다!" The waitress suddenly aimed the gun at her head, which stressed you out. You didn't want any blood to splatter, how can you prevent her from killing herself?

The masked man tsked. Clearly, he wasn't expecting this to happen, "⁵ 총 내려 놔, 멍청한 짓 하지마."

Tears were flowing from her eyes, she looked at you one last time, "Remember, detective."

You looked at her with a confused expression, "It wasn't a dream."

That was the last thing she said before shooting herself.

---

¹ "Do it. Shoot her."

² "Sorry."

³ "Didn't I tell you before to obey me?"

⁴ "I don't like being controlled! I hate it!"

⁵ "Put the gun down, don't do anything stupid."
