I'm apologizing ahead of time at how boring this chapter is. Sorry lovelies! But next chapter will be getting good. Promise. x

You know in shows and movies when a couple breaks up the girl sits around not showering for days and all she does is sit down on the couch eating chocolates and watching ridiculous love movies and sobbing? In reality you can’t do that. You have responsibilities, jobs and you need to pull yourself together. And also not showering for days is pretty gross altogether anyways. I think the most you can do is put together a playlist of sad songs and listen to it in your spare time.

And frankly, as sad as it is you eventually have to be able to plaster on a fake smile so people don’t interrogate you. That’s what I have to do today, I have to pull myself together and go to work because my week off is done. I think the worst part of my job now is the fact that I’m a photographer… for weddings. I get to see the bride and groom all happy and loved up with all their guests happy about it, I’m the one who has to take their photos for memories. It never bothered me before, in fact, I loved my job but that was also when I had a boyfriend.

I have one wedding today, and unfortunately it’s one of those weddings that last about 8-10 hours. And as much as I wish I could stay in bed I can’t.

I sigh before getting out of my warm, comforting bed and stumbling to the bathroom before turning on the shower. As I wait for it to warm I walk back to my room to get today’s clothes, black skinny jeans, a white shirt with a black peter pan collar and white flats, seems good enough.

As I step into the shower I get caught up in my thoughts thinking about yesterday. That was honestly one of the worst days this week because of how close Liam is with Niall, was with me. I shake the thoughts out of my head before stepping out of the shower into the cold morning air.

After I’m dressed I wrap my hair up in the towel before attacking my face with my makeup.

“Niall I swear if you don’t give it back I’ll go without you tonight!” I laughed through the door. We’re 18 and we’re going clubbing for my birthday and let’s just say that a certain Irishman has stolen my makeup and locked himself in the bathroom in our suite.

“Nope.” He says popping the ‘p’.

“Please? Pretty pretty pretty please?”

“Nah, why do you want it anyways?”

“So I look presentable and people don’t run away screaming.”

“Now that you put it like that… no. You don’t need it.”

“Niall I swear. If you don’t give it back I guess you’ll never get to see my new dress I bought just for tonight.”  I mock sing. That seems to of worked, since I can hear him unlocking the door.

“How do I know you’re serious?”

“You don’t. Now out so I can change.” I wink before slamming the door in his face.

I do simple makeup consisting of foundation, a light blush, white eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss. And now for the dress. I grin as I stare at it, it’s simple but beautiful. It’s black with a sweetheart neckline with a little bling on the edge of the pockets.

“Ni, will you zip me up?” I call out sweetly. I’ll take the incoming footsteps as an answer.

I open the door and start jumping backwards before crashing into his chest. I tilt backwards to see him smirking at me.

“Well hello to you to.”

“Oh shush, just zip me please?”

“Okay, done. Turn around so I can see you please.” He begs.

I pretend to think about it before shaking my head and skipping off to get my shoes, they’re plain white high heels, nothing too fancy.

“Lils, come on.”

“Hold on, let me put on my shoes.”

I turn around all done and kind of proud to see him staring with his mouth slightly open. So I walk up to him closing his mouth and kissing him.

“Let’s go.”

I sigh before taking my hair out and brushing it before I grab my purse and leave. My office is only about 3 blocks away so walking there isn’t an issue.

When I walk in I grab my camera and the different lenses I’ll need for the day before catching a bus to the grooms and brides houses taking photos of them before the actual ceremony.

The ceremony’s a simple one with pictures of all the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the flower girl and the bride walking down the aisle with the groom smiling like a loon, the bride crying during their vowels. The usual mushy wedding stuff really.

During the reception a little boy walks up to me asking me to dance with him, don’t get me wrong, he’s adorable with his bright blue eyes and short blonde hair, he’s almost a mini Niall really.

“I can’t sweetie. Why don’t you go dance with that little girl right there?” I point to a girl about his age in a purple dress and brown hair that was pulled to the side and brown eyes. He nods his little head excitedly before running over to her. I couldn’t help but take plenty of photos of them doing little goofy dances and trying to copy the adults’ slow dance.

“Niall let go, I have to leave.” I laugh as my 19 year old boyfriend pulls into his chest again.

“Nope. I want to cuddle with you instead.”

“I can’t, I have work and you know I do.”

“Well then, can I come? I have a day off and I don’t want to spend it alone. Pleeeeaase Lils?”

I roll my eyes nodding before I tell him “Fine, but you have to make me breakfast.”

I poke my tongue out before showering. As I get out I’m met with the smell of chocolate chip waffles, yum.

“These smell so good Niall. Did the boys teach you how to cook or something?”

“Actually, I found them in the freezer…” he sheepishly replies.

I laugh before kissing him and eating breakfast.

That was the first time he ever came to work with me. Funnily enough he was allowed to come too. I take the last few photos before deciding to head back to the office to hand them in.

On the bus ride home I can’t help but think what would have happened if I stayed to talk to Liam yesterday. Did he tell the others that I saw him? Tell Niall? Tell them about my hair? Lie and say that I was fine? Or did he just not mention it? Because I surely didn’t tell Brooke and I wasn’t planning on it either.

Bonjour beautiful people!

Yes yes, I'm very aware that this was a horrid and boring chapter and I'm very sorry for that, really. But next chapter is where it'll get super duper good... hopefully you think so anyway.

I pick up my schedule for this school year in about an hour and I'm a little scared because last year (Freshman year) I had ONE class with my best friends and the other six periods I had to talk to people I don't usually talk to... except Kaitlyn she's my friend... and lets just say I'm not exactly good at making new friends because I'm an odd duckling.

But anhoo, everyone else has a 'pet name' for their readers and I don't so from now on you'll be known as, drumroll please..... Ducklings. Yup, just ever so original I know. I think it's kind of cute actually... no? Okay.

Okay, bye duckies!

P.s. You're all beautiful and lovely, never forget it! x
