Chapter 8: Misconceptions of a King

Start from the beginning

"Um, Lancer...hurts." - you squeaked, trying to elaborate to him that his passionate hug was, in fact, pushing you in the deepest injury of your abdomen.

"Oh, my bad! I'm sorry..." - Lancer awkwardly shuffled away from you, still sitting on the bed "H-how do you feel, your wounds I mean?"

"Well, I'm still kicking, as you can see" - you cracked a smile, feeling guilty to have such a pure boy as him to be so full of sorrow.

"Does it hurt anywhere?! I heard you got in a nasty fight with someone, but when I came to see you my dad told me not to bother you while the doctors take care of it..."

"Huh, is that so? Was it really your dad that brought me in here?"

"Y-yes!" - Lancer finally smiled, sticking his blue tongue per usual "Isn't awesome? He carried you in his arms in a bad-ass way like a villain helping his arch nemesis in tough moments!"

"Pfft-" letting his choice of words slide, his humorous speech reminded you of the way your colleague Alphys talked whenever she ranted about her favorite fictional characters.

"Really! My dad was the coolest that night! But... he also may or may have not locked Susie and the others for all eternity."

"Susie? Where are they, Lancer? Are they alright?" - You gasped; Your sudden panic caused you to violently shake out of bed, as you were fighting on instinct - However, disregarding such poor condition, it only caused your body to hiss in pain from the harsh movements.

"Be careful!" - Lancer held your arm in comfort "I only saw them being taken away by the royal guards... but other than that my father didn't allow me to step any closer to the basement levels. I think they're just locked there."

You frowned upon hearing the news, your limbs weeping for you to not push yourself as you usually do - "Dammit. It's all my fault."

"Um, don't worry - I'm sure we'd figure out something..." - The kid helped you to move discreetly out of bed "In the meantime, I think my dad will allow you to live with us!"

"You mean like, uh, stay here?"

"Yes! He's actually waiting to talk with you in the Throne room, I just forgot to tell you."

"Welp, since I don't have any other plans - sure, why not. Let's talk to your dad." - You patted his blue head, his giggles rolling from his tongue as he hopped up and down enthusiastically. - "Lead the way, Lancer-boy."

"Hurray! Let's go, I'll give you a super-evil-but-super-cool tour of my super-evil-but-super-cool house."

And thus, the two of you head out - passing through the hallway and various kind of miscellaneous chambers. With Lancer bouncing from joy like a child that he is, you couldn't restrain your own giggles. You deeply appreciated how the kid tried to not rush his strolls since you walked as careful as possible with your sore legs. Casually, Lancer would narrate a tour-guide of each door you two passed.

"And to the right, we have the kitchen! Rouxl Kaard is usually there... Oh, his shop wasn't too far from here too, I forgot to show it."

"Aha, we can visit it next." - you chimed with a smile, following Lancer into the grandiose auditorium of the Throne Room, inclining the man standing there, awaiting.

"You should meet him actually, I call him 'Lesser Dad'. He really likes his pet worms that he keeps in jars..."

"( Y / n ), We meet at la-"

"Hey, wassup."

Your lack of respect utterly baffled him as you kept chatting with his son as if his attendance had no importance to you.
