"You see, Mister... That's what you get from being stubborn."
Wayo witnessed how the scary man turned into a guilty one who seemed couldn't fight back with the doctor. He was genuine scared at the moment.
"Your other internal organs are getting away from being okay and functional against my hands earlier and if you continue living that lifestyle of yours, I bet my house that sooner or later you will end up in my operation table again." The doctor's face went from being friendly to deadly real quick.
"And I assure you that once I saw your fucking face in the ER again, I'll make sure I'll harvest everything inside you and sell them to the people who badly needed them. Oh wait!" He exclaimed. "No one would like your organs because they are fucking useless by then."
"Beam..."
"DON'T BEAM ME!"
Lam who wished he brought a popcorn closed the door so that no one would hear the threats that Beam was about to give to his husband.
"I TOLD YOU OVER AND OVER TO CHANGE YOUR WAY OF LIVING AND START BEING HEALTHY!" Beam's face was red now and very angry. "BUT NO! YOU REMAINED STUBBORN TO THE END UNTIL YOU COULDN'T HANDLE IT ANYMORE!"
"I hope your happy now Forth knowing you made my heart stop when you got rushed to the emergency room."
Guilt was all over Forth's face realizing that everything Beam said was the truth. He went overboard with his eating habits that ended his appendix to swell until he was in great pain.
"I'm sorry...Beam." Regret was clearly there that not a minute later, Beam went closer and gave a peck on his husband's lips.
"Don't ever do that again, Forth. If not for the adrenaline rush earlier at the ER, I would have a heart attack. You can't possibly know the things that went through in my head the moment I saw writhing in pain."
Beam sighed and took the vacant space at Forth's bed.
"You're lucky they allowed me to operate you despite us being under the code."
"About that...how?"
"Everyone was busy and the doctors' hands were all full. I was the only one free at that time and since we can't risk you, they allowed me to do it." Perks of being best friends with the son of the Director.
Forth wanted to apologize again but the gesture he made was enough for Beam. The engineer's hands took Beam's and caressed them.
"I'll start living healthy." He announced after. "I promise."
"Don't make promises, Forth. Just do them. I want you to be with me for a long time and the basic thing to do just that is be healthy as possible. I don't want you in any operating table, Forth."
Forth nodded as a good husband as he should had. The furious man earlier was no longer there.
"And listen your doctor, dummy!" Beam suddenly remembered the reason why he was there in the first place. "Don't scare anyone here! This is not a place for your demands and while my people here are used to those kind of situations you still can't do that!"
Beam made a quick glance at Wayo who seemed to be out of place. He was just new and was still clueless of what was happening in front of them.
"I'm sorry..." Forth muttered when he saw where Beam was looking. "Sorry for yelling at you earlier..."
The med technician accepted it with a nod.
Deciding that Beam had stayed too long, he was still in duty after all, he gave his instructions to Forth and Lam of what to expect and to do. The engineers were known for making trouble and he just hoped that until his last hour, they wouldn't make any headaches for the whole hospital.
"I'll go back after my shift, okay?" Forth nodding in agreement and Beam being satisfied with it, he gave him one final kiss before taking Wayo and heading out of the private room.
"Doc?" Wayo asked when they were in the hallway towards the nurses station. There were some questions lingering he needed to be answered.
"I'm really sorry for what he did, Wayo but don't worry much about him." Beam started. "You'll see him again but in a different situation and I can assure you that he won't be that scary anymore. He's normally a great guy well except when he's hungry. He really loves eating." Smiling, Beam then bid his goodbye leaving Wayo with his own thoughts.
"But..." Sighing he just let it go. "It went...well, I guess?"
Staring at the back of the Doctor Beam, Wayo too smiled and resolved in making rounds doing his duty at the busy hospital.
