Small snowflakes started falling down, and I grinned. "Snow on Christmas?"

"Seems like it," Matthew said.

I shivered, feeling the wind get colder. Matthew took off his jacket and put it around me. "You should've worn something warmer."

"You'll be cold!" I protested.

He got up, stretching. "I'll be fine."

I got up after him. "You'll get sick."

"I'll be okay. Don't worry," He smiled.

I frowned. "I don't want you to get sick."

"I won't."

"You're really stubborn."

"But you still like me."

I laughed. "I guess."And our laughter died down, but our smiles were still there.

All of the sudden, Matthew pulled me closer to him and he gently placed his lips on mine. I was startled for a second but I then everything melted away. It wasn't cold anymore. I only felt warmth and happiness.

Matthew slowly pulled away, staring in my eyes. We didn't say anything for a second. We stood still, snow dropping onto our hair.

I held back the excitement rushing off my chest. I couldn't breathe because I felt that happy.

"Go home safely, okay?" Matthew said, giving me a warm smile.

"Don't get sick," I replied, handing him his jacket.

Matthew took it from me, nodding. "I won't. I'll see you in school."

We said our goodbyes and started walking back to our houses. I bit my lip, smiling. I couldn't even think properly. All I could think of was Matthew, his smile, and him kissing me.

Oh my god.

He. Kissed. Me.

I started laughing out of nowhere, feeling adrenaline rush into me. I felt like I could fly. I felt like screaming at the top of my lungs because I couldn't do anything to hold back my feelings.

And then tears welled into my eyes, but I couldn't stop laughing.

I haven't felt this much happiness in so long.

I wanted to cry. I forgot what this feeling felt like—what happiness was. Now, Matthew made me remember. I'll always be thankful to him for this.

I didn't think anything would go wrong. I wasn't worried about anything. Until, Jayden ruined my mood again.

"Dammit, she's back. I hoped she would've got hit by a car or something," he said, glaring at me. It was already 6, and I came just in time for dinner.

"Hey, Evanna!" Rose said, grinning. "Want to help me make some popcorn?"

I nodded. "Sure. Give me a minute."
