"So...that happened," I conclude the story and settle back in my chair.

Sophia and Kevin have different expressions. The former has a giant, proud smile on her face, but the looks of the latter is a whole different story. His expression changes from shocked to surprised, and then it changes to an angered one, but ending it with a neutral one.

I shake his arm, frantically, "Kevin, say something. I'm worried." I am sure about Sophia's. Her face says it all. She is practically jumping in her seat that her plan worked out. I'm content as well. But this protective guy who had a fight with Jay and his friends is not too happy like us.

He comes out of his daze. "I-i'm just...too surprised to say something."

"C'mon, Kevin. You are scaring her." Sophia tells him.

"Hey hey, I'm not trying to scare you. I just- I'm just shocked that you mustered up the strength to talk to that guy. I mean, it's been like almost two years."

"Oh, you know, since I've been a klutz to him these days, I thought that having a decent conversation with him isn't suicidal," I chuckle, Kevin and Sophia following suit.

"Like I said, i'm not angry at you, Em. I'm proud of you. You are standing up for yourself, you are talking to your lover boy, you offered food- I mean, that's gotta mean something, isn't it?" Kevin teases me and I punch his shoulder.

"Ouch, girl! Stop being a bully," Kevin complains, rubbing the spot that I had just hit.

"And you stop being a wuss." I retort.

"So, we are the only ones who knows about this huh?" Kevin questions me.

I shake my head, disapproving. "Zach knows about this too."

Kevin furrows, "How will he kn-" he stops mid-sentence and he narrow his eyes at Sophia, accusingly.

Her face says it all. She looks at us with those big, doe eyes-with a huge pang of guilt weighing in them, biting her lower lip slowly, and looking everywhere but us.

Kevin clears his throat. "Soph?"

"Yeah?" She looks at him innocently.

"You do know that you have the worst poker face ever, right?"

She looks at us for another minute and releases an exasperated sigh. "Fine, I give in. I told him as soon as Emma called to update me on Loverboy"

"I knew it," I snap my fingers at her which makes all of us to laugh again.

It's been two days since Jay and I apologised-partly. We haven't said a word to each other since then. Although, we smile at each other whenever we pass by in the hallway, or when we have the same classes. But our friends though-they glare at each other.

It's Friday night, and me and my friends have decided to have a sleepover at Sophia's house. Every month or so, we six of us plan a sleepover at one of our houses. It's nothing different than the others. We meet, watch movies, eat unhealthy food, talk nonsense until the dawn breaks, then visit the beach to watch the sunrise together, come back and have breakfast at the host's humble abode, and later to do some productive work like...homework?

Okay, the last one never happened.

I asked Kevin to pick me from my house at 8 in the evening and he drove us to Sophia's three story house, which welcomes people with a picturesque garden filled with a vast range of extravagant flowers. Sophia's mother always craved for a beautiful garden ever since she was a toddler, and she fulfilled her dream when they moved to this house five years ago. She doesn't even have a gardener to look after the flowers as she wanted only herself and her family to take care of them every day.
