Chapter 46: I like you.

Start from the beginning

The bell rang and students ran out of the cafeteria. Natalie stomped off without saying anything else. Summer couldn't come with me because of our different classes, but Matthew stayed the whole way with me.

"Evanna," Matthew said, pulling me away from everyone by my arm. "Can we talk?"

I nodded slowly, and we walked to where there was no students.

Matthew sighed. "Evanna, I'm actually curious. Why do you care about him?"

"I don't know, I told you already," I muttered.

"Is it because you feel bad for him?"

"M-maybe? I don't really know!"

"Let go of her arm," I heard a voice say.

Matthew and I turned around and saw Jayden, glaring at me.

"What?" Matthew spat.

Jayden grabbed my arm and pulled it away from Matthew's grip. Jayden dropped his binder into my hands. "Hurry up! I'm not gonna be late to class."

"Wait! She's not your fucking servant!" Matthew said.

"Who cares?" Jayden replied as he pushed me along.

I carried his binder all the way to the class we unfortunately had together. I stopped at my seat, staring down at my desk.

Words were written and scratched into the desk.

Loser

Bitch

Ugly

Fat

Psycho

Stupid

Idiot

Kill yourself

Depressed piece of shit

I could hear laughter erupting around the classroom. I turned red from the humiliation.

"Class, settle down!" Our teacher yelled. "Evanna, sit down."

I couldn't move. I just stared at the desk with tear filled eyes.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

The teacher looked at my desk and became angry. "What is the meaning of this? Who did it?"

No one answered.

"I asked you, who did this? Come up now and apologize!"

"You know this vandalism on school property, right? Whoever did this will get suspended and bring your parents—"

Jayden raised his hand. "Mr. Harrison. It was me."

The teacher turned red and looked speechless.
