' I began to feel tears in my eyes. I mean why wouldn't I? Today is the most horrible day the Capital could give, it's reaping day. The worst part was I am being forced to volunteer. I'm what you call a career. I've been training for the Hunger Games since I was 5. I'm 17 now and it's my turn to be in that death sentence.
I get all ready and turn to my mom. "Mom, I don't want to do this. Please don't make me."
"You'll do fine. You'll win this."
"You can't be sure."
"Yes I can. Now it's time to go."
I look in the mirror one last time and see a beautiful girl with a white dress and silver earrings and silver shoes staring back.
If it weren't for all this makeup and my dress I wouldn't look half as pretty.
I walk to where the reaping is held and before I know it's heard them ask if there are any female volunteers. I raise my shaky hand. "Me." I say through tears. "Come up here. What's your name?"
"Aria." I mumble.
I could picture it now. I'm in the arena..... Awaiting my death.
