Mina and Heidi looked back at the drunk guy as he left and then at the three men to the side of the entrance of Kraken and made their way over to them, safe to say they sobered up a bit after the whole ordeal. One of the guys noticed them first and smiled shyly at them.

"Are you guys okay?" Elijah, the tall, lean, mop of dark shaggy hair asked.

"Man, what a dick I was just about to-" Danny, exclaimed, but got cut off by Xavier.

"Right, what the fuck was that cunt's problem, don't know any respect."

"We're okay, thanks for stepping in like you did," Mina responded to Elijah's previous question.

So the introductions commenced, Mina shook Elijah's hand as did Heidi to Danny, the burly dark-complexioned man that seemed to always flex a muscle without meaning to, and so on and so forth.

"Yeah, sorry for getting you kicked out too," Heidi added using Mina's shoulder to balance herself on heals she was trying to strap on again. "I'm Heidi by the way."

"Don't worry about it," Elijah shrugged off the comment as he offered Heidi a hand.

"Damn best thing to happen all night," Xavier said smirking to himself.

They all gave him a sideways look. He chuckled then amplified, "I meant kicking that fool's ass, of course," rolling up the sleeves of his green buttoned-down shirt to show off to the ladies.

"Jesus help him..", Danny whispered placing his palm on his forehead as he shakes his head at his friend.

Elijah took a deep breath as if the air had finally cleared from the antagonistic stench. After that, the guys offered to pay for their uber and they gratefully accepted.

Heidi being her usual mischievous self then offered, "We'd hate to be those who take advantage of your kindness guys, what can we do?"

"Not a bit, we're glad you're both going home safely."

"Yeah, and it's not like this one over here doesn't get into fights regularly," Elijah patted Xavier's back in acknowledgment.

"Eh, what can I say. Blame it on the ah-ah-ah-alcohol, baby."

The girl's laughed at his off-pitch singing. Heidi continued with persuasion this time, "How about some desserts? Mina's family owns a bakery, you should swing by some time, our treat."

The gentleman looked at each other smiles all around and agreed to stop by, "That'd be awesome thanks."

"Great! Here's the address," she typed in the address as soon as Elijah handed over his phone.

"If they're as sweet as you, I'll definitely come," Xavier added winking at Heidi.

As the uber arrived Mina double checks it's theirs and then got in first and Heidi giggled moving in after her. She blew him a kiss from the opened window of their uber driver's back seat, she found him charming even with the pale face, potty-mouth, and the slightly too long bright chestnut red hair he had. They waved before they sped off home, Xavier stumbled back and pressed a hand to his heart pretending to have been shot by an arrow. Danny rolled his eyes at him and Elijah chuckled at Xavier kneeling on the ground.

"Guys, I think I'm a goner."

That very next Monday afternoon, Heidi was there killing time supposedly until Mina got off work, even though she wasn't required to come in today.

"You're burning both ends of the candle, Mina."

"Oh whatever, I'm not even tired."

"Don't you have to be at the hospital by two?"

Mina froze in her steps and looked around for the vintage clock hanging from the wall near the register, "Sh*t, you're right."

"Ma! I gotta go, tell dad I said bye."

"Okay, bebe. Cuidate!" Her mother replied while bagging some muffins in a paper bag. (translation: take care!)

Literally, half an hour after Mina left to volunteer Danny and Xavier popped in at Cookie Crumbs for their lunch break.

"Well hello gentlemen, nice to see you again," Heidi spoke while her eyes lit up at the sight.

"You too," Danny replied with a small smile.

"Hell yes it is, I was dreaming of seeing your beautiful self again," Xavier winks at her while taking her hand into his with a kiss.

"Dreaming eh?" Heidi smirked staring straight into his eyes.

For a second they were silent as they sat at a booth as she and Xavier looked at each other with lustful gazes.

Danny tried looking away but the atmosphere was getting to him, "Well this isn't uncomfortable at all."

They all start laughing and the air clears as they start making conversion about work and day to day activities.

"Where's your friend, by the way?" Heidi asked when she placed her hands on the table.

"He was too busy with charitable work to come."

"Yeah so, where's the baker's daughter?" Xavier pipped up curiously.

Heidi giggles at his remark and agrees on the description of Mina that she also used."Well kind of the same thing actually, she's out volunteering."

"Cool, they have something in common."

"Can I get you guys anything? Mina said to pick anything from the menu," Heidi smirked while handing them a couple of menus.

At the hospital, Mina was just getting ready to enter some rooms in the children ward when one of the younger nurses she recognized as Kiara stops her in the hall.

"Hey, Kiara, what's up?"

She smiled at Mina looking a little worried. "Hello, I was wondering if you could do me a favor..?"

"Sure, I've got time."

Kiara gestures for her to walk forward, "Let me explain the situation first, see the other nurses and I were thinking that if you would possibly like to assist one specific patient to physical therapy for the few weeks that he has left here in the hospital."

"Well, if you think that'd be a good decision. I don't mind at all, who's the patient?"

Kiara immediately blew out a big breath she was holding in waiting for a reply. "Yes, great. Its a huge favor to us, thank you. All you have to do is help him walk to physical therapy, wait for him to return and talk with the therapist for any special concerns or requests he or she may have and then walk with him back to his room."

"Okay, that sounds simple enough. When do I start?"

"Today is his first official session, here take this note, it is his room, name, and the physical therapy location and time," she handed Mina a paper from her clipboard and smiled kindly, "good luck!"

The nurse said in a hurried tone scurrying off down a different hallway. Mina looked down at the paper in her hands and took a moment to think of what hall she had to take for her destination. She turned around and headed toward the rooms near the front desk, so engrossed with the description on the paper that seemed familiar to her, she barely looked up to see the room numbers on the hall's walls.
