Chapter Eight - Ace Mistake!

Start from the beginning

"I am sure it was here somewhere." Hinata said, looking about the trail. I frowned and looked around too; we just crossed a river but we've been treking for a while now. "I think we're lost." Tsukishima said with this annoyed growl. "No one asked you to come." Kageyama snapped at the megane. "Hmm." Kenma hummed from beside me, his cat like eyes flicking back and fourth. "We should turn back Hinata - Kun. It's starting to get dark and the others are probably worried about us." I said nervously, the sky beginning to turn a darker shade of grey. "Yeah, that is a good idea." Kuroo replied, turning around and taking our little group back in the direction we had came. "Booo. You guys have no sense of adventure." Hinata whined, hopping along the rocks poking out of the river. "Well we did make it out this far right?" Yamaguchi said, hopping behind Tsukishima. I nodded and planted my foot on a smooth rock before taking a little hop to the next. We have been quite the adventurers, we did blindly follow Hinata into the forest. . . I let out a little screech as my foot slipped on a wet rock. I tumbled backwards and was very lucky that Kuroo was behind me. "Watch it, idiot. It's slippery." He said, pushing me gently up into a standing position. "Thanks captain obvious." I replied, easing my way over to Kageyama who had his hand outstreched to help me across the last little bit. I took it greatfully and as soon as I hit the hard ground, pain spiked up my right leg. Shit. I think I twisted it. "Oi, are you okay?" Tsukishima asked me. "Yeah. I'm fine." I lied, walking slowly behind the others. I could keep an okay pace behind them, but my foot hurts real bad. Not as bad as when I'd hurt it in the struggle with my mother though. I can probably tolerate it for a while longer. "How's your foot?" Kenma asked after a while of walking. I stopped as everyone turned to look at me. Their eyes telling me that I should have said something earlier. "It's fine. Really! It isn't that bad." I said in a hurry, hoping to fool them. "Yeah, right. We're not falling for that a second time." Kageyama said as Kuroo came over and bent down in front of me. "Get on." "I'm heavy. I can walk surely for awhile longer." I told them, not really wanting to be carried by Kuroo. "Niko - Kun, please rely on us." Yamaguchi said, sliding my backpack off my back. "Yeah. You can count on us." Kageyama said, motioning for me to get on the third year's back. I sighed and gently wrapped my arms around Kuroo's neck. He lifted me with ease and took hold of my legs as we began to walk again. "Am I heavy?" I asked, lying my head down in the crook of his neck. "Yeah, you're really fat." I swatted him and he just laughed. "I'm kidding." Kuroo is always like this. Making jokes like this. I actually kind of wondered quietly when I started to like him as more than just a friend? He's annoying and teasing and kind of a jack ass; but he's really sweet when he wants to be. . .

"Will you be alright to drive?" Ukai asked as Nishinoya fixed my bandages for me. We had made our way back safely to the camp, thanks to Kenma who was keeping a close eye on where we went. "Yes. I'll be fine. The meds have helped a lot with the swelling and Nishinoya has done a good job with wrapping it." I replied, keeping my foot still. We have to get back to begin last minute practicing for our first match in the preliminaries. Our first match is in a few days and we still have a lot of preparing to do. "Where's my helmet?" Hinata asked as he looked about the now packed up camp. "It should be with ours." Kageyama said, going to help the lost boy. I had driven Kageyama and Hinata here on my motorcycle. I had to attach an attachment for Hinata to sit in; Ukai is packing our tent and gear in his van. "There you go. All ready." Nishinoya said, sliding my shoe on for me. "Thanks." I replied, ruffling his hair. His cheeks flushed red and I smiled down at him. Nishinoya has a crush on me. I already know. Hinata accidentally let it slip and made me promise not to tell a soul that I knew about it. I feel bad, because I don't know what to do about it. I do really like him, he has a very special place in my heart, but I don't really know if I can choose between him and Kuroo right now. Selfish of me, huh? I am the worst kind of person. "Alright, let's get going." I said, standing and pulling on my leather jacket. "Oi." I turned my head and saw Kuroo waving to me. I smiled and headed over to him. I got about an arms length of the boy before he pulled me forwards and around a tree. I knocked my head against his and let out a little hiss. He covered my mouth with his hand so that I wouldn't make too much noise and hushed me. "They'll hear us if you make more noise." He told me as bent my head back to look at him. My eyebrows scrunched up a little but he just laughed in response, not removing his hand from my mouth. I sighed and then tilted my head, asking him what he wants with me. "Well, since you'll be busy with practicing for the preliminaries. I won't get to see you for awhile and texting you isn't very satisfying at all." Ah, I see how this is. I grinned against his hand and decided it would be fun to tease him a little, since he is always the one to tease me. I poked my tongue out and gently traced it along his palm. His face is twisted in a way that he is trying to control himself, but he is letting me continue. I got to the bottom of one of his fingers and was about to trace up his finger but he removed his hand and his lips pressed roughly against mine. I closed my eyes and let him take posession of my mouth, his tongue rubbing agaisnt mine as he dragged it along. I gently brought my hands up and played with his soft hair, him taking me around the middle and hoisting me up onto his hips so he could kiss me better. He is much, much taller than me and this is the easiest way for the both of us. I pressed myself closer to him and he liked this, hugging me tighter to him. He must have been waiting a long time to do something like this with me. According to Kenma, Kuroo has liked me for a very long time. He was the one who let it slip to me that Kuroo likes me; accidentally mind you. I bit down on Kuroo's tongue, making him moan slightly this time. I pulled back and chuckled lightly, quiet though so no one would hear us. "Stop laughing idiot." He said, kissing the base of my jaw before making his way down to the base of my neck, biting me. I winced slightly but let him continue as he raked his tongue along the places where he had made me bleed. I kissed the top of his ear, right before he pulled back. "Sorry. I couldn't help myself." He said, leaning his head against mine. "You've waited a long time, sorry." He smiled widely and nodded slightly before looking over to the right. "You don't miss anything do you?" Kenma stepped out around another tree as he had been spotted. He wears the same straight stare of his but his cheeks are slightly flushed, probably because he didn't mean to interupt. "Sorry." The boy apologized. I pecked Kuroo's cheek and he gently placed me back on the ground, adjusting my jacket so that no one could see the bite mark he'd given me; zipping up my jacket as far as it would go. I popped over to Kenma once he had let me go and gave the boy a hug. Kenma hugged me back as he usually did, squeezing me tightly. "Let's do something soon okay? I don't want to wait until our next match until I see you." I told him, letting the boy go. "Yeah. I'll text you." He said, waving as I went to join Kageyama and Hinata, who seem to have not missed my presence at all. "Alright, let's get a move on." I told the two boys. "Okay!" Hinata called, sliding his helmet on. I waved at Ukai and told him I was heading out and he gave me a thumbs up, rounding up those he had to drive back. "Don't say anything too rude to anyone while I'm away." I told Kuroo as he and Kenma came out of our hiding spot to say goodbye. "I'll be fine dumbass." He replied as I slid my helmet on and hopped onto the front of my motorcycle. Kageyama slid in behind me as Hinata got into the attachment. I shook my head and started my beast, the motor roaring to life. I flashed a peace sign at the lot of them as I pulled out. Things are starting to look hopeful for me at least. For the now anyways.
