[Al-Maa'idah 5:3] So whatever was not part of the religion of Islam at that point should never be part of the religion of Islam today. The Sahabas (R.A) Taabi'een and Imams issued many warnings against innovation (Bid'ah).
Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamaan (R.A) said, every act of worship which the companions of the Messenger of Allaah (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not do, do not do it.
Ibn Mas'ood (R.A) said, follow and do not innovate, for the religion is complete. Adhere to the old way (i.e the way of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the Sahabas (R.A). BEWARE OF BID'AH
