Hall of Justice

July 4, 2010

Today is The Day, apparently. I thought to myself. I have no idea what The Day is, just the fact that it involved four Justice Leaguers proteges. Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad and Speedy stood outside the Hall of Justice with their mentors. I was hovering over the Hall. Well why hasn't anybody spotted you. Surely someone would notice you. You must be thinking. Well, your wrong. That's one of my powers, I can turn myself into a clould. Crazy huh? The thing about changing into a cloud is I can mess with thickness and the visability so I was pretty much invisible.

I then spotted them starting to make their way up the stairs so I decided to follow them. They made their way through the doors to be greeted by Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado. I paid no attention to what he was saying because if I lost concentration, BOOM, I would turn back to my regular state. They went through another set of doors that said Authorized Personel Only. Well I'm breaking the rules today aren't I? I thought. I followed and it lead to a library. I made my way to the super computer to watch. Batman was discussing something with the other leaguers and they were about to leave through another door until Speedy interupted.

"That's it!" he said angrily. "You promised us a real look inside. Not a glorified backstage pass."

"It's a first step." Aquaman said. "You have been giving access few others get."

"Oh really." Speedy said gesturing to a window with civillians looking through. "Who cares which side of the glass we're on?"

"Roy you just need to be patient." Green Arrow said.

"What I need is respect." Speedy spat. He turned around to talk to Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad. "They're treating us like kids. Even worse sidekicks. We deserve better than this." All three of them looked at eachother before looking back at Speedy.

"You're kidding right? You're playing their game! Why? Today was supposed to be The Day. Step one in becoming full fleged members of the league."

"Well, sure. But I thought one was a tour of the HQ." Kid Flash said.

"Except the Hall isn't the Leagues real HQ. I bet they never told you it's just a false front for tourists. And a pit-stop for catching Zeta Beam tubes to the real thing. An orbiting satilite, called the Watchtower." Speedy said, getting a horrified look from Green Arrow and some suspicious glances from the other sidekicks.

"You are not helping your cause here, son. Stand down or-" Aquaman was cut of by Speedy.

"Or what? You'll send me to my room? And I'm not your son. I'm not even his." Speedy said gesturing towards Green Arrow. "I thought I was his partner, but not anymore." He finished, throwing his hat down on the floor and walked away. "Guess they were right about you three. Your not ready." he said to Robin, KF, and Aqualad. He exited the room and the doors slammed shut. The three sidekicks gave worried glances to each other and I gave them a pitiful smile. Me being the idiot I am forgot that they couldn't see me.
An alarming sound from the supercomputer, causing a few people to jump. I flew away from it, thinking the alert was caused by me. The computer flashed for a second then Superman appeared on the screen.

"Superman to Justice League. there has been an explosion at project Cadmus. It's on fire." Well no duh it's on fire. I thought to myself.

"I've had my suspicions on Cadmus." Batman said. "This may be the perfect opportunity to-" He was cut off by another beeping sound.

"Zatara to Justice League. The sorcerer , Wotan, is using the Amulet of Aten to block out the sun. Requesting full league response."

"Superman." Batman said, staring at the image of Superman on screen.

"It's a small fire. Local authorities have it under control."

"Then Cadmus will have to wait." Batman said. "All Leaguers rendezvous at Zatara's cooridinates. Batman out." he said into a microphone and turned to face the sidekicks. "Stay put." he said to the three teens.

"What? Why?" Robin asked.

"This is a league mission." Aquaman said.

"You're not trained." Flash said.

"Since when?" KF asked.

"I meant you're not trained to work appart of this team." Flash answered

"There will be other missions, when you are ready." Aquaman said.

"But for now... Stay put." Batman said, then Zeta'd away with the other Leaguers.
Robin, KF, and Aqualad had a quick conversation that I didn't bother listening to, it was probably about how unfair they were being treated. They broke apart from each other, and Robin stepped over to the supercomputer. He started typing on the keyboard until the supercomputer said Access Denied.

"Heh, wanna bet?" Robin said to himself. He started typing again and a lot of numbers and letters appeared on the screen. He must be hacking the system. I thought.

"Woah! How are you doing that?" KF asked.

"Same system as the BatCave." Robin said. The computer screen showed Access Denied but then it started flashing. Access Granted. It said.

"Alright, Project Cadmus. Geneticis lab, here in DC. That's all there is." Robin said. "But if Batman's suspicious. We should investigate."

"Solve that case before they do. It would be poetic justice." Aqualad said.

"Hey, they're all about justice." Robin said.

"But they said stay put." Aqualad said, clearly upset.

"For the blocking out the sun mission not this!" Robin said.

"Wait. Are you going to Cadmus. 'Cause if you're going, I'm going." KF said to Robin. And I'll go too. I thought.

"Just like that, we're a team on a mission." Aqualad said.

"We didn't come for a playdate." Robin said. Then just like that they left to go to Cadmus. And I followed.
