The second semester was passing by rather fast and it was here when Nandini was approached by Microsoft for the post of their regional manager for New York.

Actually, the company directors had planned to visit Yale after their exams for campus selection. So the administration had sent in the files of students who were currently in their second and final year.

From there, Nandini's file and her academic records had impressed them to the extent that they offered her the post before she could complete her final year.

When the initial email came up to her inbox from Microsoft, she hadn't believed it and considered it to be some hoax. But when after not receiving any reply from her, the company had called her was when she believed it to be true.

Nandini didn't utter a word about it to anyone as she wanted it to be a big surprise for all of them. Specially Manik.

Her husband, Her Love and the man who believed in her.

The Interview was held on a Saturday, and though she was nervous for this was her first actual interview unlike the jobs she had worked before, but things became easier once she was comfortable.

She had the appointment letter with her as she shook hands with the directors confidently.

When Nandini returned home that evening, the place seemed empty and on enquiring the maid told her that Mukti was out for the weekend to go hiking with Reyaansh, the quintessentially handsome light green eyed guy who was genuinely interested in her best friend. Nandini had noticed the softness in his eyes with that adorable smile as he hung out with them, not to mention he respected Nandini and her marital status.

Though Mukti just termed him a friend, that cute blush that came on her face whenever she used to tease her with Reyaansh's name was not to be missed.

While Pallavi had gone to Detroit along with the NGO organization she works for as a volunteer along with many others, for the flood relief camp owing to the terrible conditions there and will be back after a week.

And Manik wasn't home yet.

Her heart pondered, and deciding to go with it she dismissed all the servants for the night and even tomorrow.

It was planned in her mind, she would make tonight a memorable one for them.

Changing into a cute Smurfette T-shirt and slacks, Nandini decided to make Manik's favorite fast food dinner. Burgers, French Fries and Fried Chicken as she tied up her hair in a bun.

That done, she checked the refrigerator for some chocolate and having found that made the dessert which was Chocolate Tiramisu. Dessert would be a must when she would tell him about her placement.

Finishing up with the cooking, she dimmed the lights and lighted up the place with some scented candles along with her favorite fresh red roses.

Why Roses? Because her heart wanted to confess her love for him too, it's been almost a year and she couldn't retain it back from him any longer.

Yes, she would tell him that she was in love with him. Truly, Madly, Deeply.

Satisfied with her efforts, Nandini sighed in relief and walked in to have a shower. As she looked up at the sky from her bathroom window after stepping out from the shower, it was inky blue and heavy.
