An Hour Later..

Manik walked into his office at Times Square wishing everyone who wished him. Well, it was a drill. He was the boss, so it was obvious that the staff would wish him but he did find it very tiring.

He walked into his spacious cabin and took off his camera from his shoulder along with his stuff on the table. Picking up his cordless, he had just ordered a coffee when Scarlett : His secretary walked in with files.

After doing away with the pleasantries, she handed him the file containing the details for today's shoot for Vouge cover.

Manik took them from her, for he needed to study the requirements first when Scarlett noticed the platinum band on his finger.

"Oh My God! Oh My God! Oh My God!" She shrieked a bit, her grey eyes going wide!

Manik flinched at the high tone and looked at her with a stern WTH look which was enough to get her back to her senses.

"I'm sorry." She apologized, recomposing herself as Manik shook his head and got back to the papers.

"Manik Sir? Did you get engaged?" She asked unable to keep it any more.

"No, I got married." He told her with his cute trademark smile and as casually.

"NOOO!" Scarlett shrieked again with her hands flying to her mouth making Manik look at her as if she has lost all her marbles.

"I..I'm sorry. I meant.. no. That's not fair, you should've atleast told us about it.", Scarlett composed herself, fumbling.

"There was nothing to tell, It just happened and I guess I like to keep personal life outta this office!", Manik replied in a firm tone, with a smile on his face.

"Of course it is." Scarlett replied, trying to be sweet.

"Great then, Thank you. And ask the crew to be ready in half an hour.", He ordered, as his coffee came in.

Scarlett nodded and walked out though Manik knew that this news won't be kept to her for long.

And surely half an hour later, taking a sip of his coffee he looked out through the glass wall of his cabin, he found Scarlett narrating something animatedly to a group of girls which was surely his gossip and he couldn't believe when he saw her dabbing the side of her eyes with a tissue.

Had She Been Crying? No Effing Way!!

Just to check, he picked up his cordless to call Scarlett into his cabin and when she walked in a few minutes later sure enough he could see her cheeks smudged with her mascara.

"Is the crew ready?" He asked, drumming his fingers on the MacBook.

"Yes Sir." She replied, sniffing.

Manik nodded in reply and she was about to go when,

"Scarlett, buy yourself a waterproof mascara. I'm not having that unkempt state of yours in this office." He spoke up firmly, without looking at her.

She quickly mumbled an apology and walked out embarrassed.

Well, he couldn't help but be sarcastic!
