Rowan and I have been texting all day.

She told me how Brie was going to tell her dad if she didn't.

So she told her dad about Brie using and she doesn't know what he's going to do.

It's nearly six pm and we still have no idea where that building is.

Mom's leaving in an hour.

Mick and her are watching a show in their room.

I'm reading this book for class.

If I read ahead then I can work ahead.

Maybe pass this year and not disappoint my mom anymore than I have.

I heard my phone going off.

I picked it up to see Hailey calling me.

I answered.

"Hey. What's up?"

"Maddie, I can't sleep. I've been checking the stalker account to see if he post anything, ya know, about Elisia." She started.

I went on the stalker account while she was on speaker.

"Is that Rowan?" I asked seeing the video of her on the street and her making out with some guy in what looks like a gas station.

"Yeah. That was tonight. Like maybe thirty minutes ago." She informed me.

"My god, have you called her?" I asked.

"Yeah. She's fine. Her boyfriend is with her. I just wanted to let you know." She sighed.

Boyfriend?

I'll have to ask her about that later.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"No. This is insane. Why is this happening to us?" She asked clearly upset.

"I think we hurt someone. I can't remember anything from last year. Not anything that could have hurt someone this bad." I thought aloud.

"Yeah. I just wish I knew Elisia was okay." She mumbled.

"We'll find her. We have to." I said firmly.

"I've got to go. Just make sure you're safe. Whoever this is, they're dangerous." She said softly.

"Get some sleep Hailey." I said hanging up.

I can't believe whoever this was, was following Rowan not even an hour ago.

She could have been taken, like Elisia.

"Honey?" My mom knocked on the door.

I got up and walked over to unlock and open my door.

She was wearing her uniform.

"I wanted a hug bye." She said smiling.

I hugged her tightly.

"Are you okay honey?" She asked sensing I was off.

"Yeah. I want to go see Jensen tonight though. Is that okay?" I asked.

She looked at me and gave me a small smile.

"Yeah. Get dressed and you can ride with me. I don't want you walking this late."

🐵👨🏻

The ride over was filled with laughing and loud singing to cheesy pop songs.

It was nice.

I felt okay for a few minuets.

Then the music was turned off and I remembered what was happening.

Mom went off to work and I'm walking to the desk guy.

It's not Samantha this time.

"Hello. Can I see Jensen Dale?"

He nodded.

"Just sign the check in board." He gestured to the board.

I grabbed a pen and wrote my name, the time, and who I was visiting.

I sat the pen down and started the walk to his room.

I don't even know why I'm here.

I used to tell Jensen everything that bothered me.

Maybe it'll help me.

I saw the lights were on.

I opened the door and walked in.

I shut the door softly behind me.

I turned and froze.

"I-I didn't know you were here. I'm sorry." I blurted seeing Brandon jump to his feet.

"I'll leave you too it." I said turning to leave.

I felt him grab my wrist but unlike last time it wasn't rough.

"It's okay Maddie. You don't have to go." He said softly.

I saw the tears in his eyes.

Sometimes I forget how close they really were.

They were basically brothers.

"Are you sure?" I asked seeing he was sensitive.

He nodded.

"I was just talking about you anyway." He chuckled.

I gave a small smile.

"Look, I'm sorry about how rude I must be coming off-"

He cut me off.

"No. I was an idiot. I know you loved Jensen and it's just too soon. Hell, you just got back." He said sitting down.

I sat in the chair next to him.

"I basically lived with Jensen and his folks. Now that they've moved and all I'm stuck at home a lot more." He mumbled.

I've been to Brandon's house a few times but I don't think I've ever seen his parents.

Wonder why?

"I wish I could have helped you both." He added.

I looked at him.

I reached over and grabbed his hand in mine.

I never considered that Brandon blamed himself like I do.

"You couldn't have helped us. I know I said you should have, but you couldn't have. I didn't want help then. Neither did he. We did this to ourselves." I said firmly.

"You don't blame yourself for Jensen?" He asked looking me in the eyes.

I sighed and looked at him.

"Exactly." He mumbled.

"I'm good as hiding how dead I feel." I added.

"You still feel the way you did last year?" He said rubbing his thumb across my skin.

I looked at our hands.

"Not as bad, but yeah, sometimes." I answered honestly.

"Rehab helped?" He asked.

Helped? No. If anything it hurt me more, but I can't get into that.

"No. I just decided to live a better life. Me drinking was going to kill me. I don't want to die." I answered.

He nodded.

"Your mom's remarried huh? Ran into her yesterday night. Different last name." He asked.

"Yeah. Mick. He's okay." I mumbled.

"You gave him hell huh?" He asked with a smile.

"At first, defiantly." We laughed.

I felt his thumb start tracing circles.

"I should go. I've got a lot of homework left." I said pulling my hand away from him.

"Bye Maddie." He said as I walked to the door and left.

He keeps surprising me.
