My eyes opened.

I threw up the second I got home.

Mick helped clean the mess and I showered.

I cried the whole shower and then just passed out in bed.

"Honey? Are you awake?" My mom knocked on my door.

I sat up.

"Madeline?" She walked in.

"I'm awake." I said grabbing my phone.

It's nearly seven.

I have to get dressed and get to school.

"Mick told me about how you got sick last night? Are you feeling better?" She asked walking towards me.

I stand up and nodded.

"Yeah. I'm better." I said forcing a smile.

I felt so sick.

Elisia could be dead right now.

Monkeyman has no reason to keep her alive.

"Are you sure? You could have a bug or the flu?"

She asked touching my forehead to feel for a fever.

I hugged her lightly.

"I'm fine mom. Promise." I said letting her go.

Her smile wavered and she looked sad for a moment.

"Honey, you snuck out late at night and came home throwing up." She said blankly.

I get it.

I chuckled.

"You think I was out drinking." I said feeling anger.

"Honey if you were just tell me. Just say it and I can help you. I already reached out to doctor Giles-"

I felt my stomach drop and my heart rapidly beat.

"Mom. That's not necessarily. I wasn't drinking. I just ate some bad food. I snuck out to hang out with a new friend. I should have just asked but I didn't want you to worry I was out partying." I said quickly.

"You promise? Cause honey if you need help, I'll help. I won't send you away again, but I can help from here." Mom asked again.

I held my pinky out and smiled. "I pinky promise."

She smiled back and locked pinky's with me.

We shook and smiled at each other.

"When did you get home?" I asked moving past the conversation about drinking.

"Later than usual. Five." She said smiling.

"Then go rest up. I've gotta get to school anyway." I said letting her as I went to my closet.

"Mick is leaving for work, he got a job yesterday, but he made some breakfast for you already." She said as she shut the door. 

I sighed.

I looked at my phone again to see if I've missed a text or anything from Rowan or Hailey or even Monkeyman himself.

I do have a text.

From Brandon.

I opened it.

'I'm sry if last night freaked u out can we talk abt it pls'

I had forgot all about remembering I kissed Brandon last Summer.

I can't believe I did that.

I kissed Brandon Darrow.
