At Dusk

As if a thread is tied between them
The great sun pulls the wide sea closer
It's of a sight that pleases the eyes
Not leaning on the view's beholder

As if a thread is tied between us
Your soft hands would soon both surrender
From chasing my own that avoids yours
For things I know my heart won't mutter

As if threads are tied in between them
The stars then pull themselves together
Up the sky, slowly, as they fade in
And yet my eyes refuse to twinkle

As if a thread is tied between us
I drag you as I'm rolling downhill
For my only intent was to stay
And watch before the skies were dimmed
