•a few weeks after graduation•
"Guess what, guess what!!" Riley excitedly screamed through the phone. She was currently sat in her bedroom on FaceTime to Amy, Giselle, Sky, and Thalia.
"I got accepted to the university!" All Riley's friends congratulated her with enthusiasm. They knew that during the last year of school that their friends love for acting had started up. Now she was going to be going to a university for all the different aspects of art. (Music, art, drama, dance)
"When do you leave? I remember you saying that you'd have to stay in the on-site residential area?" Amy questioned. The uni wasn't local in the area unfortunately.
"I leave in two weeks, so I'm gonna need loads of help getting my things ready" she smiled sadly as to which her friends agreed to help...
The next two weeks were the fastest weeks of Riley's life. It was a Saturday morning, also the morning that she would be driving down to Toronto university. Yes, she eventually passed her driving test for the 3rd time. All her friends were there, including Eldon and West her other two close friends. After everyone had helped her transport things from the house and into the now full to the rim car, they did a group huddle.
"I'm gonna miss you" Thalia said tearing up as she squeezes Riley's guts out her petite body.
"We all will. Riley's not always been there since day one, but she made our new day one. Life changed since she came into it."
"Aww Guys I love you and we have to FaceTime every evening" she said crying. Everyone agreed.
"Also I'll be able to come back for some weekends, and I might even throw a lit party when my parents aren't here" she giggled before hugging every individual.,.
"Ill miss this place" Riley reared up after starting the engine and putting her foot down. She waved goodbye to her friends, feeling anxious as soon as they were out of sight.
This was a new life now. A new chapter of life just waiting to be explored...
An hour it took to finally get to her destination. But she managed it without getting lost, and managed to park her car nearest to where she was staying.
Leaving her belonging in her car for now, she entered through the large metal gates and went into the office area.
"Hi, how can I help you?" A woman asked from behind the counter.
"Hi, my name's Riley and I've came to collect my room key" she said as the woman began clicking the computer mouse.
"Room 138, here's your key" Riley took the golden key in her palm and collected a leaflet off the desk.
"Thanks" she replied while leaving through the heavy door and finding herself walking across the campus.
After 15 minutes she finally located her room. It was on the second floor, and she didn't fancy the amount of effort it was going to take to get all her belongings here; duvets, books, clothes etc...
The room itself was nice though. There was a wooden floor with white walls and blinds covering every window. As she unrolled each one the sun beamed through, making the once dark dusty room feel more welcoming.
She looked around the kitchen and bathroom, before making her way to the largest room, the bedroom.
There were two bunk beds, one on each side of the room. There were also four closets with storage space.
Scaring Riley out of her skin, she heard the door open.
"Hello?" She called our nervously while making her way to the where the door actually was.
"Hii, are we roommates?" This girl asked. She had two large suitcases sat by her sides as well as a big backpack.
"Uh I think so! I don't actually have any information that I was sharing with people" Riley explained.
"You must be Riley?" The blonde girl asked. Riley nodded.
"Ohh okay well I'm Jessica and we're roommates! I got a email about it, there's going to be two guys sharing with us" she explained.
"Well I can't wait to see the place get trashed by then" Riley said causing Jessica to giggle.
"Hopefully they aren't too smelly. Anyways I'm gonna go to the bedroom bit and unpack. Is there any particular bed you want because I really don't like heights" Jessica said.
"I'll take a top bunk then" Riley said, secretly happy that she would be at the top. She always wanted a bunk bed growing up but she never got one.
"Okay cool. Also you call call me Jess."
"Okay Jess, well call me Ri. I'm gonna go grab my stuff."
"Okay, see you later!" Jess chirped as Riley exited the dorm room.
It took over half an hour for Riley to get to her car and back while trying to carry a huge bed duvet and bag full of other random stuff. She finally got back though and saw Jess sat on her bed playing on her phone.
"I'm so tired and I still have more trips to take" Riley huffed out of breath. She launched the duvets onto the bed above Jessica's and started neatening it out.
"I'll help you on your next journey there, I still have a few bits and bobs to pick up. Oh and why you were gone I met both our other roommates" Jess smiled. Riley noticed some belongings on the other bunk bed.
"What were they like?" Riley asked curiously.
"One was blonde and called Finn. Tall and kinda skinny" she said attempting to describe the guy that she had met for about 5 minutes. "He looked like the nerdy type."
"Okay cool, what about the other?" Riley smiled.
"He was hot, had a good fashion sense, and had brown curly hair. I don't think I got his name though, but he was already cracking jokes. He's either going to make this dorm fun or make us want to kick him out" Jess laughed.
"Cool, well I can't wait to meet them" Riley giggles as she placed folded clothes into her wardrobe.
