You guessed it, my parents weren't planning on picking me up. In fact they probably had no idea I'd been here for the past few days. They were most likely out of town anyway, and somehow I can't imagine Emily complaining from my disappearance.

So once I was sure James had gone, I crept out the hospital with the few belongings I had arrived with. Luckily I had a £5 note in my phone case which I used to catch a bus back home.

It took a while, but eventually the crunching of gravel was under my feet. I twisted the key in the front door and creeped inside.

As i thought, my parents cars hadn't been on the drive. That was two less people to worry about. However Emily stood at the top of the stairs, blocking my path.

"Nice of you to come home Riley" she said coldly.

I stayed quiet.

"Where have you been?" She questioned.

"A friends" i whispered, causing a witch-like cackle to leave her lips.

"Let's be real, what friends have you got?" Her glare was focused right on me.

I debated telling her that I was at the hospital, but i decided against it. Instead I pushed past her shoulder and opened the door of my room.

"Riley there's no point lying, everyone knows you were at the hospital. News travels fast at school" she said before disappearing downstairs and finally leaving me alone.

The first thing I did was find some baggy clothes and strip out of the ones I currently had on. Turning the nozzle, the warm water rained out the shower head.

I wasted no time of hopping in and feeling instantly refreshed by the water. It's warmth gave me hope, and i drizzled a sweet scented body wash over me. The loofah travelled all over my body in a circular motion until I was completely clean. Afterwards I washed away the grease from my plain old hair and left it with a pleasant coconut smell to it.

Once I'd wrapped a soft beige towel around me I went back into my bedroom. I slipped into the clothes I'd picked out earlier and de-tangled my hair. I felt refreshed again.

I decided not to go on my phone, mostly because I'd have no messages from anyone anyway and all I'd see would be drama from school. Obviously I didn't fancy that.

Instead i decided I needed to eat. I hadn't eaten at all since going into the hospital, and although I was used to going without I still felt weak without it.

An apple was enough. It took me less than a few minutes to destroy it but then I felt satisfied.

Thankfully I managed to get back to my room without bumping into Emily.

Okay so it's been a whole & I don't really remember what I wrote about before and cba to read it all to find out. I looked at the plot which I have planned out and basically I've realised that I've gone way off topic with Riley and from the next chapter onwards it's going to start shifting back to what I was supposed to write about. thanks for the constant support and patience, ily!💓
