•*3 months later*•

Things started to brighten up for Riley after a while. At first it was extremely difficult for her to get back on track with her family. Emily had obviously told their parents about Riley being in the hospital (the hospital probably told them too) and her parents weren't pleased. They believed that she was just being dramatic and was a self-centred bitch. Of course this hurt Riley's feelings and didn't help her health, but finally it started to clear up as people forgot what happened.

As for Emily she graduated, as well as all her friends. For Riley this was great! She could go to school without the fear of being bullied. In fact with a little help from her new best friend James, she even managed to find her first proper friends.

They were all so supportive and helpful. James was still her closest friend, but she hung out with the girls more often. However James was the first person she managed to open up to. He helped her with the bullying and as soon as he found out about her not eating enough he helped her through it.

•RILEYS POV•

As soon as I got back on track with eating properly my confidence drastically increased. I wasn't fearful of collapsing while walking down the streets. And now that the top year had left school there was nobody there harassing me. James even helped me find friends, which were also linked to his friends. Most of them were actually in my year which was odd, considering that this time a few months ago nobody would have been seen dead hanging out with me.

"So, who's going to the party on Main Street tonight?" Giselle asked while popping another fry into her mouth.

It was Friday afternoon and because of school ending earlier than usual, Riley and her friends were at the park chilling.

"I'll go if anyone else goes" Thalia said. Out of all the friends she was the one who liked partying the most, however she wasn't very independent.

"Well I'm down" Skylar said causing Amy to nod also.

"Great, so that's 4/5 of us. Riley how about you?" Giselle asked in a more dull tone.

It wasn't because she didn't want Riley to go, but more because every time they asked her she'd refuse.

Riley was surprised they even asked her anymore.

"Sure" Riley sipped her drink.

"Wait what" Thalia said surprised as her and the others all turned to stare at Riley in shock.

"Sure, I'll go to the party tonight."

She sounded casual and confident however inside she was already terrified. Parties hadn't ever sounded fun to her. It consisted only of people getting drunk and waking up with a huge headache the next day. What's the fun in that?

"What's changed your mind" Skylar laughed as she jumped off the bench table and brushed down her jeans.

James

"Well I'm gonna be home alone tonight so why not" she shrugged.

"Wow this is a whole new person" Amy smiled.

"Next she will be hosting parties at her house" Giselle laughed.

The girls chatted for a while longer until deciding to all head home.

6pm my house? We can get ready together?" Thalia questioned Riley. Everyone else was walking off but she stayed back to ask.

"Yeah okay, see you then" Riley grinned before hugging her and leaving in the opposite direction.

The shy, abused, bullied girl Riley who would once cry at the thought of a party...was now going to attend one.
