•Riley's POV•
As the night went on I began to relax even more. Part of it was because of the fact that I was more comfortable with the environment I was in and with the people I was with, but mostly because I was now on my fourth cup of booze.
Honestly I didn't know alcohol could chill someone out so much while still having a good time.
Woah..I was actually having fun in a crowded, alcohol infested house. I actually felt free.
"Time for shots!" Sky, who was the crazy kind of person when drunk, yelled over the music. Amy grabbed my arm and shouted into my ear.
"You coming?"
"I think I'll pass this time, I don't wanna mix drinks too much" I shrugged while still swaying to the music slightly.
"Okay gurl well we're gonna go inside, don't get lost!" She giggled before stumbling in her heels after the others.
Even though there was still the sound of music and the mumbling of people all around, I suddenly felt awkward and alone.
"I need another drink" I mumbled to myself while pushing my way through the crowds.
"Woah watch where you're going" some bitchy sounding girl said as I walked on by.
"Sorry!" I apologised as I bumped into someone's strong arm, almost knocking their drink all over them.
"Wait Riley what are you doing here? You know this is a party right?"
I stopped walking and turned back to face him.
"Oh James, hi..how are you?" I questioned awkwardly not sure of what else to say.
"Uh I'm great thanks...since when did you come to parties?" He asked confused.
"Well my friends asked me to come...so here I am" I laughed a little.
"Oh, I've not seen any of them yet" he replied.
"Are the boys with you?" I noticed him alone.
"They went to do shots or something" James shrugged while taking a sip from his cup.
"So did the girls, no wonder they're taking so long."
The cool breeze of the night swept through my curls as we stood there silently, each glancing around at the crazy scene surrounding us.
I turned my attention back at James who was still staring into a crowd of drunk dancers. His stubble framed his face perfectly and his jawline looked sharper than a knife. I had always liked his dark brown curls that sat on his head.
Eventually he turned back to me causing me to smile a little. Even though it was somewhat dark out, his dark eyes still seemed to glisten.
"I'm going to find my friends now" he said before giving me a smile and casually walking off into the crowd. A cold shiver ran over my bare arms, causing me to locate the door to the house and make my way inside.
My attention was turned to the unique laughing which I know came from Giselle. I made my way over to my friends who seemed even more drunk than just 15 minutes ago.
"Riiiley hii" Thalia threw her arm over my shoulder.
"Hey Guys, having fun?" I asked while giggling.
"Yesss, try a shot!" Amy said while pushing one into my hands. I wrapped my fingers around the plastic shot glass and brought it up to my lips. My throat burnt as the alcohol trickled down.
"Ew" i grimaced at the taste.
"It's funnn" Sky giggled while taking as sip of another drink.
I didn't even know what was happening to me, but all I knew was that I needed another drink...
"Hey hottie" some drunk guy slurred as he approached me on the 'dance floor'.
"Hey there" I giggled, not fully aware of what I was doing.
"I've never seen you at a party beforeee" they mumbled in my ear leaving their hot breath tingling on my neck.
"Me neitherr" I giggled while still dancing to the music. Anyone would have been surprised as of now I've not broken an ankle yet.
The guy ran his large hands through my hair and across my cheek. My head was forced to tilt up, allowing me for the first time to recognise my friend.
"J-jaames it's you" i said throwing my arms around him dramatically.
"Ohh Riley hii" he stumbled. My hands ran over his biceps as I somewhat hugged him.
I took another sip from my cup before he grabbed both my shoulders.
"Woah woah what are you doing heree, shouldn't you be at home studying?" He questioned, somewhat sounding like the overprotective sibling.
"Noo not tonight, I'm here getting drunk!" I giggled as I batted my eyelashes.
"Is that so?" He mumbled, scanning his eyes over me slowly.
"Yup it's my first party and it's greatt!"
James grabbed my hand and pulled me through the crowded house and to the front yard.
"Y-you need to leave now" he slurred.
"What why? I'm having a great time!" I mumbled while leaning against the basic house.
"Because you're not a party girl, so leave!"
James voice rose loud enough to startle me. It brought back memories of the last time my dad yelled at me like that. It looked as though his eyes had glossed over, only confusing me even more.
Either way I stumbled down the pebbled driveway. I wasn't in the mood to party any longer.
•James pov•
I didn't mean to shout...it's just that Riley's my best girl friend and I don't want her to get hurt.
I didn't want to get hurt; drunk, reckless Riley wasn't the Riley I knew or liked.
She was too sweet for that. Too innocent...
