She starts walking and I follow her.

"Well, here it is."

I open the door and step inside.

I can't help but giggle when I see that all the walls are of pink color.

"Hope..."

"I know what you're going to say Sarah. I'm obsessed with pink."

"That'll probably explain the gigantic pink teddy bear sitting on your bed."

"Oh yeah. Dad got me that when I was six."

"I can't help but notice that you've got a lot of posters of Green Day too."

"Yeah, I'm really sad that I can't attend their concert next week. But maybe you can."

"Maybe..."

"Come on, we aren't here to look at my room are we?"

"No, we are not."

"I'm really thirsty."

"Yeah, me too. I think I brought some pepsi."

We exit the room and get our drinks.

"Wow, this is still ice cold."

"That tends to happen when you put things in the refrigerator for a day."

"I remember that I accidentally refrigerated my phone once. It got a huge crack in the middle."

"I never knew that you were this dumb Hope."

"I'm more dumber than you think."

"I think you are."

We finish our drinks.

"So what should we do next?"

"We could listen to music and dance."

"Sounds good to me."

We enter the living room.

"Wow, those are some really nice speakers that you have there."

"Thank you. So, what song should I put on?"

"Any song is fine by me."

She puts on a song and we start dancing.

"I bet I've got better moves than you Hope."

"I think I'll take you up on that."

So, this is what happiness feels like. Happiness is in the moment, the more focused, the more intense, like a beam of light to the soul. I let it soak into my bones and feel it pass through me like a warm ocean, washing away all of my stress. Happiness really does cheer you up. It makes you see the brighter side of life. I haven't had this much fun since... No, I need to forget about that. I need to enjoy myself right now. After a while I start feeling tired. I feel as if every muscle in my body is making itself known.

"Hey Hope. Let's stop dancing, I'm feeling tired."

"Yeah, sure."

She turns off, the music.

"So, what do you want to do now?"

"Let's just sit and talk."

"That probably sounds like a good idea."

We throw ourselves on the couch.

"Hey Sarah, did I tell you that I went on a date with Jeff yesterday?"

"No you didn't. How did it go?"

"It was really good. Jeff took me for a walk late at night. It was simple and yet so perfect."
