[Description: In which Veronica and Reggie get together during Archie's time in jail, Archie found out already but when he's released from jail he finds Veronica on his doorstep one rainy night. Archie was half surprised when he found out that Veronica and Reggie had started seeing each other. Like, in a dating way. In a more than friends way. They were in a relationship. Romantically. It was a steak through the heart in his opinion, as if being imprisoned by his girlfriends-wait-ex girlfriends father wasn't bad enough, she of corse had to run along to the next guy lined up for her. Kevin, as usual, had all of the gossip to spill, when he came to visit Archie he couldn't help but blurt it out. The room had been cold and lonely, Archie remembered, it was a little too ironic for his liking.

"So how's Ronnie?" Archie recalls mindlessly asking. They'd been going through a rough patch which was no surprise. Archie had told her to stay away from the prison, fearing that she would run away if she were to see the state that he was in, with bruises and cuts all over his face...well more realistically he was afraid that she would try to do something about it, the last thing he wanted was for her to get involved in the mess of things.
"She's well, ever since she got together with Reggie she's been pretty occupied-"
"Wait, I'm sorry, what?!" Archie had interrupted Kevin, who's face was instantly swept with regret, but there was no going back now, so he figured he'd be the one to rip off the bandaid about Riverdale Highs latest couple.
"She...she didn't tell you? That she was dating Reggie now?" Kevin fumbled with his words, trying to not break his friends heart.

"As far as I was aware, we never broke up" Archie sighed to himself, not knowing what to do other than bury his face into his hands. He wanted to cry, scream and cry. He wanted Veronica to leave the prison, not leave him. Archie held his position for a moment, trying to comprehend everything. How could she just throw him away like that? How could she just forget about everything they had been through. It stumped Archie beyond what he could express, he didn't have a clue.
"Oh my god...Look Archie I'm really sorry that I've been the one to break this news, I thought you knew, or at least knew there would be a chance that..." Kevin didn't finish his sentence as Archie lifted his head, looking devastated and somewhat lifeless.

Archie doesn't fully remember what the rest of the convocation was like between them, he can only recall a pit sitting at the bottom of his stomach. He remembered feeling empty and cold, hurt and betrayed. But Archie prefers that he doesn't recall what else was said, as thinking about it alone makes him upset enough.

When he got out of jail it was a beautiful day. Summer was coming to an end and the Fall leaves were beginning to show, it was still sunny though. He remembered the relief of having the jury on his side, of having his handcuffs taken off. The feeling of Betty Cooper running into his arms to what had to be the tightest hug he'd ever received. Jughead was a close second though, he had thrown his arms around his best friend and held him closely. His Dad as well, had been over the moon, practically jumping for joy to say the least. But as they exited the courtroom Archie couldn't help but notice the absence of a certain raven haired princess, and that had stung a little. Of corse he tried to ignore it, but it never left the back of his mind.

The first time he saw her was at school, the following Monday. His life, for the most part, was back to normal. He'd spent the weekend with Betty and Jughead, who had so many questions, mainly because they had decided an article on him was needed in the Blue and Gold. Not a word about Veronica was spoken.

Anyways, Archie was walking down the hallway of Riverdale High. It was empty as he was late, only because he had to meet with Mr Weatherbee, who was thrilled to have his star pupil back at school. He turned the corner and was greeted with the sight of a short, raven haired girl, collecting books from her locker in a rushed manner. She was running late after spending too long talking with Reggie before class. The newly free teen decided that it was best if he just put his head down and kept walking, for why would she want to speak to him?
