Just wanted to say something about Zayn's choice of title for his album. Obviously it's about him revealing himself – Open up and see what's inside of my mind, as the not-quite title track says. Mind of Mine is Zayn's mind, opened for all to see.... (so I love that the first full track is Pillowtalk, which is all about sex with Harry LOL. Uppermost in Zayn's mind ha ha!!)
But there's another meaning. "Mind" (at least in British English) can also mean "care" as in "minding a baby", looking after something. "Mind of mine" could mean looking after something that is "mine" (Zayn's). We all know how much Zarry cared for and looked out for each other. And the album is so much about Harry, as we shall see.
Finally there is a third meaning which tells us (in case we were in any doubt!) that the album is about Zarry. Remember Zayn's song I Won't Mind, which was leaked nearly a year before MoM was released and which was all about Zarry? Here's the chorus:
I won't mind
Even though I know you'll
Never be mine.
Knowing Zayn and the care he takes over his art, it cannot be a coincidence that the two words occur not only at the end of the lines in IWM's chorus but also form the title of the album. The inference is clear: IWM is about Zarry. The album is too.
"Mind" has another meaning here: something which you don't like or get bothered by. As in "I don't mind" and "I do mind". If "mine" refers to what belongs to Zayn (Harry?) then the album (mind of mine) is also about things that Zayn minded... things that bothered Zayn about his boo. Perhaps the album reveals the reasons Zayn left him. Some of the tracks certainly contain hints, as we shall see. And if you think I am stretching it by taking the meaning this far (yes, I know it seems a bit far-fetched!!) just remember this is Zayn we are talking about: the boy who loved words and art and wanted to be an English major. The man whose song titles and upper case / lower case letters are still confusing the world.
