• Chapter I - The Assault •

(A/N - I DO NOT OWN TMNT, NICKELODEON DOES! This is a TMNT 2012 fanfiction, so some parts of the story might be differentiated to the other cartoons/movies/comics. This is also a Human AU and a High School AU story, so Leo is eighteen, Raph is seventeen, Donnie and Kitty are fifteen and Mikey is fourteen. Any Japanese dialogue will be shown in italics with the normal English next to them. Thought tracks and emphasised words will also be shown in italics. You'll understand it once you read it. • Raph's POV •

"Raphael, get up! We're going to be late for school!" My older brother, Leo, shouts at me, pulling the covers, I roll my eyes. I don't feel like doing this today.

''Do I have to, Leo? High school sucks. The teachers hate me anyway.'', I suddenly hear a scream. Within seconds, my three younger siblings, Donnie, Mikey and Sophie (AKA Kitty), are in the hallway, Donnie and Kitty chasing Mikey.

"YOU TOLD CASEY I LIKED HIM?!"

"YOU TOLD APRIL I LIKED HER!?"

"MIKEY!!! YOU'RE SO DEAD!!!"

Wait, what? Mikey actually...God, Mikey! If anyone at school finds out, Kitty and Donnie are going to get bullied. I love them both to bits, though I'd never admit it, but my girly younger sister and geeky younger brother don't have a chance against April and Casey. They're the most popular guys at our school.

I get up, and get ready. The only reason being to keep an eye on Donnie and Kitty. Granted, They're younger than me, but they're so smart they put them in some of my classes, Donnie in the nerdy and geeky subjects and Kitty in the artsy and creative ones. I'm willing to bet no one is stupid enough to mess with them there. If so, I highly doubt Dad would be mad at me for getting into a fight. Though we keep it secret, our father teaches us the ways of being a ninja. And, the first thing I learned, was to protect my own flesh and blood. I'm gonna keep that up - and I have no means of stopping.

• Donnie's POV •

I feel nervous as I walk into first period with Kitty beside me. This is the one class we don't have with Raph, Gym. He took it last year, so we can't have him with us this class period. We have the rest together.

"Hey, nerd!", I suddenly hear someone yell. I put my binder on the bleachers and go to walk off, but someone grabs me from behind, and slams me to the wall. I groan in pain.

"Hey! What the hell?!", Kitty shouts, putting her drawings on the bleachers and shoving the guy who's just slammed me. he grabs her wrist before she can pull back, taking his free hand and caressing her cheek, "Hey, Kitty Cat, where were you last night? You weren't in my room when I came in,"

Kitty gasps as the guy, Tyler I think his name is, as he leans in to kiss her. She smacks him with her notepad, "Get away from me, you pedo!"

She runs to me and offers a hand. Taking her hand in mine, she pulls me up and helps me to get my balance.

"Where's your brothers? No one here to save ya, huh? That's a first..."
