••Lisandra's POV••

I walked way from Jake, a blush raising on my cheeks.

God, that was embarrassing.

But, at the same time, nice?

I walked over to a table far way from everyone else where James sat talking with Erica.

"Hey guys," I said casually, taking a seat next to James.

"Hey yourself,"  James said, taking a sip of some drink he bribed the bartender for.

"Um, did I do something wrong?"  I asked, looking over at Erica then back at James.

"Not at all,"  James replied.

"Um, Erica.."

I glanced at her, half smiling.

She nodded, "Well, I'm gonna go mingle, I'll catch up with you guys later."

She grabbed her water bottle from the table and left.

I turned my attention to James, who was drawing circles on his cup.

"Jay," I started, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing Lizzy, I'm perfectly fine."

I put my hand on top of his.

He didn't even spare me a glance.

"James, you're lying."  I stated.

"No, I'm not."  He shook my hand off, standing up.

"Jay, just tell me what's wrong."

His eyes snapped over to meet mine.

Instead of finding the comfort and love I usually do, I found hate and anger.

"Goddamn it Lisandra, I said I was fine!  Just, leave me the bloody hell alone!"

I cringed back at the sound of his voice.

He's never raised his voice at me, ever.

And he's never called me by my full name.

I watched him down his drink, before walking away.

I nodded sadly to myself, trying to hold back the tears that were trying spill.

I wasn't going to cry tonight.

This was my mother's wedding.

I was meant to be happy and stay happy.

While I was to busy drowned in my thoughts, I didn't notice someone sitting next to me until they spoke.

"Lisandra, why are you crying?"  Jake asked.

"I'm not,"  I whispered, wiping under my eyes just in case I was, which of course, I was.

"You are, and I know why,"

I looked over at him.

"How?"

"I saw what happened with Jake just now,"

I reached on the table for my champagne glass, and downed it.

"Well, I'm fine."

"No, you're not."  He stated.

"Can you just please, drop it."

He put his hands up, "Just trying to help,"

"Well, don't.  I've got in under control."

He nodded, looking out at everyone that was pairing up.

The lights started dimming and a slow song came on.

Jake looked at me, "Would you like to dance?"

"I don't know,"

"C'mon, it'll get your mind off the James bull crap for a while,"

I still wan't sure.

I just didn't feel that comfortable around Jake just yet.

"Please?"  He begged, "It'll be fun, I promise."

I looked up at him, taking him in for the first time tonight.

He took off his tux jacket and vest.

His tie was hanging loosely around his neck, with a couple buttons un done.

His shirt was un-tucked and his hair was sticky up in a few places from the multiple times he's ranhis fingers through it.

His rich brown eyes started into mine, with pleading smiled.

Hands down, he looked good.

But what am I saying?

He's my step brother and I have a boyfriend.

I can't be thinking this.

Sighing, I nodded, taking the hand he rest in front of me.

He smiled, "You won't regret it,"

I took a deep breath as he lead me to the dance floor.

I saw my mom and Matt pairing up in the middle and smile.

My mother looked at me and Jake and smiled hugely.

She's most likely happy that I was making an effort to get over everything that happened.

I was knocked out of my thoughts when I felt arms wrap around my waist.

I froze for  a second before I remembered it was Jake.

Taking a deep breath, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Just let the music guide you,"  Jake whispered in my ear, causing me to shiver.

(Song playing is Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran)

I did as Jake said, moving side to side with Jake to Ed's voice.

It was lovely song, I've played it once or twice before.

I laid my head on Jake's shoulder as it got to the chorus.

Jake tighten his arms around me, causing me to jump before I relaxed.

I don't know what it is about Jake, but I felt safe in his arm, like I did with James.

James...

I don't know what happened.

Did I upset him?

Did something else?

Is he not happy?

Did he change his mind about us?

All these questions where racing though my head.

I know, I know, I'm over thinking everything.

But this is the first time I've given heart away for some else to hold.

I just didn't know we'd have have out first fight already.

"Stop thinking about him,"  Jake said.

"I can't help it," I whispered.

I didn't know how he knew I was thinking about James but I wasn't going to worry about that now.

As the song wrapped up, people started pulling away, clapping.

Jake let me go after the couple dispersed and the younger kids rammed the dance floor as Chris Brown's Yeah 3x started playing.

"Another dance?"  Jake asked.

"I already danced with you once, I don't kn-"

"C'mon Lisandra, Erica's dancing too. The guys are out here, we could all dance together.  You could have fun.  So, what do you say?"

I took in Erica and the boys jumping up and down, dancing and screaming the lyrics, having a good time.

And that's when I made my decision.

"Let's do it,"
