When the bandits saw Chelnuk and the others approaching they fled. Mendro was a little bruised from the ordeal, Chralane had a cut on his leg. After they saw to the injured and a little more rest they set off again.
Ragmath lived in a cave. He preyed upon the herds of the countryside and abused or killed the shepherds. The locals used him as an excuse to make small children go to sleep. “If you do not go to sleep Ragmath will eat you.” Of course the giant was not a cannibal but the trick worked.
His cave had two openings, Enoch saw this when he scouted ahead. He returned to the others, “The cave mouth ahead is his main entrance, but there seems to be another entrance at the back, a bit smaller but he seems to use that as well.”
“Do we split our forces or attack all at once?” thought Chelnuk out loud.
“If he is asleep in the cave we can slay him in his slumber,” suggested Disgast.
Instantly Chelnuk showed his dislike for the suggestion. “We are honourable in this group Disgast, we will not kill anyone in their sleep.”
“How honourable is it for seven to face one giant?” replied the older man.
